Now that Lebron, D Wade, and Bosh have joined forces in Miami and have to share the spotlight, will Kevin Durant become the most popular individual player in the league? I understand he plays on a small market team, but so did Lebron and the Thunder have a very exciting young team and at 21 Durant is only going to get better.

I think it's definitely a possibility. The Thunder are a very popular team who are on the rise. Right now it's looking like they will be the future of the western conference...well at least IMO. So i dont see why it couldnt happen.

No, Lebron, Kobe, Wade, Howard, maybe a few others. leBron and Kobe will still be at the top. Being hated on PSD doesn't translate to the masses, they're still loved. It also doesn't help Durant plays for a small market team. Durant is very likable though.

Kobe, Lebron, Wade, Dwight, Melo are all still more popular than Durant. KG is more popular than Durant at this point as well as Iverson, unfortunately.

He should. He has already arrived as one of the best players in the league and hes proven his competitive spirit by not waiting for his contract to run out and going to the falvor of the month franchise. He wants to finish what he has started instead of running to another team of stars to hide his weaknesses.

He is my new favorite wing player replacing Wade. Howard is my boy.

No way. Kobe has a lot of haters, yet he is still the global icon lebron has always wanted to be.

Most popular? No. But he's the new hero of the NBA and could be the most popular in a few years

I think this year that Durant, Howard, Paul, Carmelo, and Rose all step their game up to a whole 'nutha level. I believe Durant and Melo will be in the argument for top 3 in the league. I see D Wade slipping out of the top 3 for sure.

I'm no LeBron fan, but you do realize that he signed an extension with the Cavs at that point in his career, right? Even if Durant wanted out (he obviously doesn't), the Thunder would retain him.

Lebron had how many people tuned in to his decision? Maybe Durant will be the most liked player that nba followers like but how many people keep up with the whole season? Espn will not let Kobe or Lebron down...

So Wade and Lebron don't exist anymore? Kobe is still the most popular player.

No. He will have to win something before he becomes the MOST popular player in the league.

But KD is definitely moving up the ranks in popularity. I mean, how can you not like this kid?
