What's going on in the NBA.....his in his 30's !!!!

07-15-2010, 08:24 PM
He's 30. That's borderline....

07-15-2010, 08:36 PM
Scola's pretty underrated this is not that bad.

07-15-2010, 08:54 PM
Nets lose out again.

07-15-2010, 08:59 PM

We really gotta give a standing ovation to these agents, definitely doing a good job this summer. =O

Yes, but he's only played in the NBA for a few years at most, and he has only gotten better each year.

haha what a joke

07-15-2010, 09:21 PM
yea what a joke for a guy who busts his *** every night, doesnt go down with ***** injuries, and gives you a double/double every night of the week.

07-15-2010, 09:21 PM
The summer of overpaying role players continues

07-15-2010, 09:24 PM
good deal for the H

Scola= beastmode

07-15-2010, 09:31 PM
haha what a joke

 yeah, who needs a guy who works his *** off, scores and rebounds.

07-15-2010, 09:44 PM
isn't scola like 40 years old.

07-15-2010, 10:10 PM
Unlike most bigmen in this year's FA class, he hasn't missed a game yet.

07-15-2010, 10:23 PM
Somone was gonna pay Scola this salary anyway... still not as bad as the Joe Johnson deal...

07-15-2010, 10:34 PM
why are people saying this is a joke? you obviously havent seen they guy play...double double every night.

07-15-2010, 10:44 PM
Yeah Scola is a beast. Not surprised they gave him that deal.

Some of you have no basketball IQ at all!!!! This is great for the Rockets, for last few seasons he has been our most CONSISTENT player. He is with out a doubt the heart of this team. If you do the math 47 mil for 5 years is only 9.4 mil a year (very reasonable!!!)

PLEASE DO NOT compare this to any other deal.... Im not even going to say the name because that was so ridiculous it doesn't deserve acknowledgment

07-15-2010, 10:51 PM
Awesome move for Houston. Very underrated team down there, wouldn't be surprised if they made some noise this year.

07-15-2010, 10:57 PM
lil high and a lil long but I'm glad we got him signed, especially with Jordan Hill not looking very good during Summer League

07-15-2010, 10:58 PM
uh whats with all the hate, Scola is worth every penny of that deal.

its probably due to the fact that rockets wasn't on cable last season, and none of you guys watched him play, but he plays as hard if not harder than battier, who in my opinion is a extremely hard worker.

07-15-2010, 11:10 PM

don't forget this

I don't like deal that will have 35 year old role playersmaking double digits in salary (if his deal is backloaded, that will be the case). I like this a TON if it's frontloaded. Love Scola as a player. Just think they might be trying to make this deal go away in a years 4 and 5.

Age doesn't matter too much since he hasn't been in the league for that long (They don't play 82+ games in Europe). I don't know what to say... I would've liked it if it was a bit shorter. Hes 30 but can probably play til this contract is done, plus hes a smart player who doesn't use speed and athleticism anyways.

Oh man I was rooting for the Nets to get him. Hed be great for that team. Oh well good for Houston.

07-16-2010, 01:04 AM
Scola's a hard worker, They saw that he got rewarded. He deserved it they cleared out Landry with faith that scola would cover and he is doing well.

07-16-2010, 01:13 AM
Good deal, many teams would love his production. dont need to run a play for him and he will go for double double... paul milsap type.

07-16-2010, 01:26 AM
a lil high but teams are paying to much so you have to raise the price .........

07-16-2010, 01:28 AM
He's the perfect guy I would want to offset a star center. Underrated player, but the contract is right.

07-16-2010, 01:34 AM
if yao ever stays healthy, hes a great compliment. good luck w/ tho tho.

07-16-2010, 01:41 AM
Nice Deal for Houston

Scola is a Warrior on the Court and he always are healthy

07-16-2010, 02:08 AM
scola is good and worth every penny of those 47 million. A guy that hasnt been injured, plays for the team, and hustles all season long. Hopefully Yao can stay healthy

07-16-2010, 04:23 AM
For what he brings to the game a well deserved signing. Scola is a beast and Houston will be one of the best teams in the NBA with a healthy Yao.

I love Scola's signature move, the Figure 8 Drop Step.
