Though the Pistons are for sale, the ownership group, including Karen Davidson, "has absolutely nothing to do with any proposal that would move the team to Las Vegas," the team said in a statement Thursday.

The Las Vegas Sun on Wednesday reported that a developer had an NBA team "under contract" to move to Las Vegas if Clark County could secure public funding of a new arena on the Strip.

Though the Pistons are one of several NBA teams for sale, they were the only franchise mentioned in the Las Vegas Sun story. That led to speculation that a new Pistons owner might explore the possibility of relocating to Las Vegas.

In recent years, the NBA has seemed less averse to a partnership with Las Vegas, even with the league's concerns about gambling. The 2007 NBA All-Star Game was in Las Vegas, and commissioner David Stern was pleased with the results.

The Kings have also been on record saying that they are not the team tied to possible Vegas move.

I wonder who it could be?

I'm not sure. NOH maybe? I doubt the warriors would move, the Bay Area is huge and clearly warrants a team. Clippers maybe?

Kings' official denial:
""The Maloofs have absolutely nothing to do with that proposal," spokeswoman Donna Lucas said. "They didn't even know about it. They are not selling the team. They are not moving the team."

Golden State should go. Hell i wouldnt even mind an expansion in Vegas. Wont happen but not to many people i know would complain about an expansion. Creates more jobs and oppertunities. It may make uneven numbers but... who knows

The warriors would not leave the bay for Vegas. Its a way bigger market and they are the only team. I hope its not the pistons they have to much history to leave IMO. Clippers make sense just cause there following in LA is not that big. Could give them a chance to get out from the Lakers shadow a bit with out loosing what fanbase they do have in La.

I think Clippers are a logical choice, they share an arena with the Lakers and will never be the first team in that city

Why? Were not a struggling franchise.we are one of the most loyal fanbases in the NBA in the 5th largest market in the US? If it ain't broke don't fix it, u make it better. The warriors leaving the bay makes absolutely no sense. They should not even be close to going, we top 10 in attendance every years. Fail.

I don't get how any team with such rich basketball history could be linked to Vegas. Detroit would make no sense. LAC is really the only logical fit, their not, never have and are never going to be LA's team. Unless it was an expansion team. The Warriors have a great fan base and the bay area would be pissed, and that's a pretty big market as it is.

Supersonics all over again?

Why don't they just have 2 expansion franchises? Las Vegas & Seattle(bring the Sonics back)
Then move the New Orleans Hornets and Memphis Grizzlies to the East... 16 a piece.

Seattle wants their team back, Las Vegas wants a team, nobody wants to lose their team(we saw how those poor Seattle fans felt)

32 is a much better number than 30 for competitions. (32/2=16,16/2=8, 8/2=4, 4/2=2)

You must be stupid or something. Warriors have the best fans in the league and sell out even with the crappy teams they put out on the floor. Warriors aren't going anywhere. :eyebrow:

No it isn't the Pacers. They signed a new deal to stay in Indiana.

The Clippers, it just makes too much sense and then change the team name to:

Las Vegas Aces

i think any franchise would want to stay away from anything that has any form of intonation of gambling in any way they can... bad choice.
