The Celtics have hired ex-Nets coach Lawrence Frank as an assistant on Doc Rivers' staff, league sources say. He replaces Tom Thibodeau.

He's a great, defensive coach. I actually wanted the Raptors to hire him as head coach early on.

In my opinion, a good hire by the Celtics and when Doc Rivers retires, he'll most likely take over.

i think that's the idea.. he'll have another quality PG in Rondo as well as a defensive minded team.

Pretty good signing. It will be intresting to see if the celtics defensive scheme changes. Esp with all the sucess that they have had with tom...

He's a good coach, I also wanted him to coach the Raptors if we were to have a vacancy but it didn't turn out that way.

Good to see Frank getting another job, he wore out his welcome in Jersey but I always liked him and he is a great coach.

LF....really? Good luck. I think he'd be in line to replace Doc if he decided to hang it up.
