McGrady has also seen interest from the Chicago Bulls and Miami Heat, which could only pay him the veteran's minimum, Wojnarowski notes. McGrady averaged 9.4 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game in the 24 games he played in for the New York Knicks last year after starting the season woefully with the Houston Rockets.

Would be nice if he could come back to the NBA and show that he still has something left in his tank

Clips would prob give him the most $$$ but I don't see him taking it, would be nice to see him coming off the bench and being more effective in a role that requires less minutes.

well he has three options,

he could start for the bulls (or at least play a big role)

he could make $$$ with the clippers

he could compete for a title with the heat

... the decision will really help define what kind of player he is.

I think I would be fine with Bulls or Heat getting him. But not the Clippers, He just got out of a 22 million a year contract he's not hungry. I wanna see some desire he's only 30 should have at least 3-4 more descent years if he doesn't bounce back.

The Lakers could offer him the vet minimum too but I think the Lakers would be better off resigning Shannon Brown for more explosion off the bench. Let McGrady go ring chasing like the rest of the league in Miami. It's irrelavent since the three stooges will go up against the Lakers and lose in the finals

Tracy McGrady is irrelevent... he chokes under pressure and his bad knees dont allow him to play his style of basketball anymore. He has no explosion left yes hes only 30 but he also came from high school straight to the NBA so theres still alot of miles on those legs...

dhoops24
07-15-2010, 10:58 AM
McGrady can still play. He should talk to Grant Hill. Grant Hill was a top player in the league before injuried too. McGrady has got to metally move on and realize he needs to be a role player. He is not the same player that needs to have the ball in his hands 60-75% of the time anymore.

No need for Reddick anymore! They got Korver!.

Bulls should offer T-Mac 3yr 20mil.

Lineup:

C) Noah
PF) Boozer
SF) Deng
SG) T-Mac
PG) Rose

Bench:

SF/SG Korver
PF T.Gibson
PF/SF J.Johnson
SG/PG J.McClinton(Miami)
C AJ Ogilvy(Vanderbuilt-Rookie)
PF C.Richard
SG/PG J.Pargo

With as many inside scorers as the Bulls have I think they could use another lockdown shooter. I also think 3 yrs 20 mil for McGrady is even more than McGrady expects to get.

Tracy McGrady(notes) has had his eye on playing with LeBron James(notes) for two years now, according to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski, but he may end up suiting up on the opposite coast instead. Sources tell Wojnarowski that McGrady has some interest from the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Clips need to fill the hole left by Travis Outlaw(notes), who split town for the New Jersey Nets. Team reps have spoken to McGrady's agent and a workout might get scheduled soon, Wojnarowski reports.

I dis agree LA would be better with T-mac off the bench to help LO!! Remember LA! trying to win 3 rings they were able to win 2 with a subpar bench!! Uncle Phil said this his last go around! why not take less stress off of KB24 by bring in T-mac he can get you 10-15 a game! He may have lost a step but he still better than everybody on our bench beside LO! And i believe T-Mac can help motivate LO! to be more consitant! The road to the finals isnt going to get any easier you see what Miami did!! Bring T_mac in Mitch!! Trust me !!!

Wat log jam we have no SG'S and T-Mac would come cheap and the most years Brewer would get is 2 or 3 we have cap space.

If the bulls land both tracy and jj, they'll have an excellent 9 man rotation.

Rose
McGrady
Deng
Boozer
Noah

Redick
Korver
Gibson
Johnson (looks like he's ready to contribute)

Lots of guys who can play multiple positions and Redick or Korver can easily step into the starting line-up if T-Mac gets injured again or is under-performing.

I think it's worth the risk. If he plays well, T-Mac's ability to make plays will take a lot of pressure off Rose and really makes the bulls a top 3 team in the east. I would put them 5-8 otherwise.

Makes it easier to perhaps trade Deng for a big man such as Kaman or another wing defender in Battier.

But what good is it that a guy who was a top 3-5 player in the NBA for about 6-8 years needs to go to a team that will be one of the championship favorites to come off the bench in order to get out of round 1?

I'd have more respect for him if he went to a team like Portland, Utah, Chicago, than going to a team that just added 2 guys who finished top 4 in PER on the season for free.

the Bulls might not be done acquiring shooting-guard candidates. They still have room under the salary cap, and NBA sources said the Bulls have had discussions with representatives for Josh Howard, Shannon Brown, Rasual Butler and even Tracy McGrady.

I don't think his legs will hold up an entire season, so starting if out of the question regardless of where he plays. He'll probably have to be a bench player that only plays around 10-15 minutes a game max to have his legs hold up for a full season for once. I hope he gets a chance on a contender though! T-Mac used to be far and away my favorite player.

Or the Heat should start Tmac at SF and bring Lebron off the bench for firepower and to kill teams 2nd units.

I've always wondered if a team is soo stacked why they don' do something like that. What use is having all your scorers in at the same time and nothing off the bench?

Why would Tmac do that? If LA doesn't win it next year, all the blame will be on Tmac saying he put a hex on the team. Everyone would say we were fine without him and then we get him and lose.
