just proves its all about money over rings. with that kind of offer though i cant blame him, but he wont be winning a ring in his career

Check out the deals Miami is signing and reevaluate that stance?

Raja's still a good player to have on your team - disappointed the Warriors waived him after he showed interest in wanting to "stay" there.

I ain't gonna hate, Lakers could only offer him a fraction of that so I don't blame him. Heat would've offered less than the Lakers, so I ain't really upset.

I'm not a Mavs fan so don't jump up with homer stuff but i think Mavs and Thunder are better.. Jazz there in 4th imo

Like I said in the lakers' forum, Bell did the smart thing. Why take less at this point in his career? Good signing for Utah. I agree Jahari. The Jazz are better than they were last year now with this signing.

Nahh Al is not as good as Boozer and Korver was better than Raja. Not to mention they lose Wes Matthews who was a great up and coming talent. I don't see the Jazz making much noise at all. At least not as much as the Thunder and Mavs.

I agree with you on Raja as he knows the city and Sloan, but I'll withhold judgment on them being better or worse until I see how Okur returns as he is the game changer in my eyes for them.

Everyone can argue all you want about whether Boozer or Jefferson is better. But the fact is Jefferson is better for the Jazz because he can play Center better than Boozer.

Also Raja shoots just as well as Korver career wise. And Korver wont be shooting over 50 percent again from 3. Look at the other years. Raja is also a better defender than Korver. So the Jazz have improved.

They got tougher and longer with Jefferson. They get defense and a better 3 point shooter in Raja (compared to Matthews). Jazz are also not done yet. Jazz will be better next year.

dont know about better or worse, just less proven. We have swapped Boozer for more size in Jefferson, which personally I prefer. We have swapped Korver for more size and a more all round player in Hayward who again, is unproven and I prefer. Bell is to replace Wesley it seems, the only move I dont prefer.

His agent told them he won't play for the min no need for a meeting. Riley has heard this alot, just not getting musch press because it never goes past first phone call.

Yeah you definitely got bigger with Jefferson but at the same time I'm not quite convinced that makes you better.... but then again I always found Boozer to be rather underrated. Korver was a proven lethal shooter, Hayward has yet to prove he can even play in the NBA. And I do not understand letting Wes go at all. He is going to be a fantastic player in this league and he is only 23. But I guess we will have to wait and see, I just don't see the Jazz having as good of chemistry.

At least he told the Bulls no too:

Sources say Raja Bell also had firm two-year offer from Chicago worth more than $8 million, but Jazz trumped Bulls, Lakers, etc.

we cant. We dont have bird rights to wesley since we only had him for one year, so the money we were going to sign him with has to come from our MLE. Since 3.3mil of our MLE has now been used, Wesley is a Blazer. I love Wesley, but honestly, that contract was ridiculous, 9mil first year for a guy who has only had 1 nba season and averaged 9ppg. Can see why Utah opted for Bell at 1/3 the price.

we finally get someone to fill the toughness/nastiness/veteran leadership void left by Matt Harpring though

How can you rank the Blazers, Nuggets and Mavs ahead of the Jazz?

vs. Blazers: 4-0.
vs. Mavs: 3-1. (I think)
vs. Nuggets: 4-2 in playoffs, when it mattered, without TWO starters.

And Cole Aldrich doesn't exactly vault the Thunder from the 8th seed to above the 5th. But I can understand why people are going to make them the 'sexy' pick this year. For second behind the Lakers, that is.

Money > Rings

Very odd though for players like him at his age who is ringless to choose $ over the ring

He hasn't been in the league as long as other role players so that gives him more incentive to get paid, understandably so

it really isnt as simple as that. Raja is probably better right now, and when you factor in that he's 1/3 the price it makes sense. I loved Wesley, but come on, 34 million and 9 million in his first year is grossly overpaying him. I wish him luck in Portland.

Very sneaky. The Jazz are quitely having a nice offseason. They lose Boozer and they respond by getting Jefferson. Then they sign Bell who fits really well with that team. I like the Jazz a lot. Maybe not the #2 team in the West but theyll compete.

Even as a Nuggets fan, I'd put Utah currently at #2 in the West. If the Nuggets get a true C, that would change. And if Dallas would actually perform in the playoffs, things would be different. For some reason I think OKC will regress slightly this year.
