Rockets GM Daryl Morey announced via Twitter that the Rockets intend to match Kyle Lowry's four-year, $24 million offer from the Cavs.

That didn't take long. Lowry proved himself to be a very valuable piece of the Rockets' rotation, and should continue to get solid minutes as the backup PG to Aaron Brooks and part-time shooting guard off the bench.

I'm a lil surprised at this. That's a lot of money for a backup. It does give them flexibility in the future just in case.

Only 6 mill a year. Lowry is a good player and can start for a lot of teams.

I'm not gonna lie, it is a lot of money. But this kid is sooo underrated and totally worth it.

Brooks/Lowry
Martin/Budinger/Taylor
Battier/Ariza
Scola(restricted FA)/Hill/Patterson
Yao/Hayes

Assume they will use the MLE on a center.

That depth is ridiculous.

I had a feeling even tho it was a little pricey that the Rockets were gonna match. I think the Cavs should take a look at Richard Jefferson, he played well in Byron Scott's system in NJ, gets him back in the open court and moving without the ball in that princeton offense.

Yeah. I agree. He's quite underrated. He could start for quite a few teams in the L.

Poor Cleveland, would have been a pick up for them.

Kyle Lowry is extremely underrated so this is a fair price to pay for them.
Cleveland should have offered a bit more because they now have the worst roster in the NBA, Kyle Lowry would have been a step in the right direction.

I like what im seeing out of the rockets though, u guys have a really deep roster that could surprise some people. They have all the elements of a championship contender team.

At least The Rockets didn't announce they would match the offer on an ESPN special!

And remember, we didn this 2 years ago with an underrated player in Carl Landry, so don't be surprised to see Brooks or Lowry moved at some point in the near future.

That might be true but he is not starting. And if he is worth 6 what are they going to pay Brooks?

Once Houston matches, Nets will make an offer to Scola.

We'll see. A lot of GM's say things to try to alter a player's market value.

Alot of teams?? Name them

Lakers, Heat, Bobcats, Pacers, Raptors, Grizzlies, and maybe 76ers, Blazers, Hawks, Kings (depending on if they'd want to use Evans at the 2.)
