View Full Version : Shaun Livingston has agreed to a two-year deal with Charlotte

Shaun Livingston has agreed in principle to a two-year, $7 million deal with Charlotte, league sources tell Y! Also non-guaranteed 3rd year.
This almost assuredly means Charlotte no longer interested in Minny's Ramon Sessions. Charlotte Observer first reported a deal was imminent.

Good pickup and I hope that Livingston can put it all together and stay healthy. Great comeback from him if he does.

I absolutely love this deal for Charlotte. If they get any production whatsoever he'll be worth it. He still has tons of potential.

Very nice. Good Luck Shaun.

Nice pickup

07-14-2010, 02:48 PM
Damn, I was really hoping he would land in Chicago. Oh wait am I supposed to list all the reasons he sucks since he didn't end up with the Bulls? JK, good pickup for Charlotte and good luck to Shaun.

Very nice for Charlotte. He'll likely be their starter.

07-14-2010, 02:53 PM
nice and cheap

07-14-2010, 03:22 PM
Good I didn't want him on the Bulls so much. That knee snap was the worst thing I've ever seen

07-14-2010, 03:28 PM
Good deal.... if he can stay healthy and maybe start he may be one of the steals of FA, only if he can stay on the court though.

07-14-2010, 03:35 PM
Good luck.

Hopefully he is fully recovered from this...

Sorry, had to do it.

07-14-2010, 03:43 PM

07-14-2010, 03:44 PM
Good luck.

Hopefully he is fully recovered from this...

Sorry, had to do it.

damn, that's hard to watch. that's probably the worst injury i've seen. the next one would have to be when bogut busted his arm at the end of this past season...

Good move by Jordan.

07-14-2010, 04:06 PM

07-14-2010, 04:16 PM
Good luck.

Hopefully he is fully recovered from this...

Sorry, had to do it.

This calls for a "worst injury" thread. Anyone wanna get on that?

07-14-2010, 04:19 PM
good pickup. if he manages to stay healthy, i can see him becoming felton's replacement later on in the season

07-14-2010, 04:24 PM
good pickup

07-14-2010, 05:07 PM
Feels good to see Shaun still making a living out of basketball after all the stuff he has suffered throughout the years with injuries. He's a good guy and hard worker as well so he should get along just fine with Larry Brown down in Charlotte.

07-14-2010, 05:13 PM
I just hope larry brown doesnt screw this kid over. Good luck SL... Wish the knicks woulda gave u at least a look...

07-14-2010, 05:16 PM
I've always pulled for him since he went down... That injury was just bad...

07-14-2010, 05:21 PM
Wow I'm surprised thats the best deal he could get.

07-14-2010, 05:37 PM
good pickup. if he manages to stay healthy, i can see him becoming felton's replacement later on in the season

Felton signed with Knicks...so it's between Augustin and Livingston right now...we should not forget Augustin tough, pretty good young pg!

07-14-2010, 08:21 PM
Aagh! He went because of minutes, but I wish he could have been a Mav... Great young pick up. Good BBall IQ

07-14-2010, 08:26 PM
4th best signing of the offseason. The best free agent point guard, i called it and you will all see.

07-14-2010, 08:28 PM
Larry Brown has been looking for a big PG for 2 seasons now...he finally got one. Brown works great with PG's too. He's very tough on them, but he gets the most out of them.

07-14-2010, 09:47 PM
nice and cheap

That's what she said.

Srry couldn't resist....

07-14-2010, 10:03 PM
Yes, I wanted him to get picked up by a team he could get lots of playing time for.

Wow this is really a perfect situation for Livingston to live up to his draft hype. If he doesnt turn it around with Larry Brown and the Bobcats consider it game over. It will be fun to watch. If he pans out, this is a very underrated move of the offseason by the Bobcats. Good luck Livingston.

Ugh... Way to sleep another one through Pacers...

He would have been great there too! I root for the Pacers to get competitive again but the moves they made the past couple years have been brutal. I really hope it clicks there sometime, that state deserves a good basketball team.

Good luck.

Hopefully he is fully recovered from this...

Sorry, had to do it.

Notice how that injury happened against the Bobcats, how ironic.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP)—Shaun Livingston(notes) suffered what was widely considered a career-ending knee injury playing against Charlotte in 2007.

Just over three years later, he’s joining the Bobcats to continue his comeback and help plug their hole at point guard.

“Yes,” agent Henry Thomas said, “how ironic.”

Thomas confirmed on Wednesday his client was headed to Charlotte but didn’t provide financial figures. Yahoo! Sports reported it was a two-year deal worth $7 million.

“A good get,” Bobcats coach Larry Brown said in a brief phone interview.

The 6-foot-7 Livingston is a big, versatile point guard that would seem to fit into Brown’s system if his left knee is fully recovered. And Charlotte needs the help after it made no attempt to re-sign last year’s starter, Raymond Felton(notes), because of salary-cap woes.

When Felton signed with New York this week, D.J. Augustin(notes) was the only point guard left on the roster.

It remains unclear if the Bobcats will seek another playmaker. Brown was tightlipped, saying only the team has “a lot of work to do” after Tuesday’s trade that sent Tyson Chandler(notes) and Alexis Ajinca(notes) to Dallas.

The Bobcats got Erick Dampier(notes) from the Mavericks, whose $13 million non-guaranteed contract could be used as a chip in a future deal.

The 24-year-old Livingston’s career seemed over when he tore three ligaments and dislocated his kneecap in a game against Charlotte on Feb. 26, 2007 when he was with the Los Angeles Clippers. Livingston, who skipped college and was the No. 4 pick in the 2004 draft, missed an entire season and played in just 12 games with Oklahoma City and Miami when he returned in 2008-09.

Livingston played in 36 games last season with the Thunder and Wizards. He started 18 games to finish last season with Washington and averaged 9.2 points and 4.5 assists, which created some interest around the league.

Livingston’s size could contrast well with the 6-foot Augustin, who struggled some last season.
