Doesn't seem like someone who would play Bball during his time off; team might have made him go.

Kurt Helin: Exec to JR Smith, who Denver dressed at Summer League today. "Why you here?" "Love of the game." "You needed to stay in shape, didn't you?" via Twitter

What is the point of that? He won't be able to pull those moves in the regular season.

Nothing wrong with that, He wants to improve his game. It's just a pick up game, he's not playing all games.

It's better then NOT doing anything during the off season. I still can't stand the guy, but I can respect his decision to play.

Your fine with that? If he isn't playing all thegames then what's the point?? I don't see Odom Crawford Terry or Milsap playing with their teams just for fun like aau

And he's obviously not trying to get better doing all these Hot Sauce moves on people trying to make a roster

It only takes one play to mess up your career, ask D Miles

D rose shoulda suited up and shut his *** down. Durant should play too and try to drop 100.

As a Nuggets fan I was fine with him playing today. He could have dominated the game if he wanted to but he was trying to work on his all around game and I loved it. For someone who tends to be immature at times I was glad to see him show some commitment to our team.

I loved the move he did with the lay-up

That move was amazing! If he could just be a positive locker-room player and play better defense he'd be so good.

Maybe JR Smith was in vegas for the week gambling and hitting up the clubs and just decided to stop by

Even though our teams are "enemies" I can still respect wise choices by players who wanna improve their game. JR surprised me really. Ty is playing well too! What a steal!

maybe JR is just bored and wants to do something

The eyes of the NBA big dogs are watching the SL games. There are no games to remind people of how decent JR is. They need to trade him soon to appease Melo with some more talent or something. This way they can showcase him and he'll look like a beast against this competition. Maybe someone sees him and takes a chance on a trade.
So they put him in heels and put him on the corner.

Yeah don't look at highlights to judge though, because though he did have that sick move overall he really didn't push to hard. Could have just wanted to stay in shape, hell getting work with Ty Lawson fellow bench player isn't bad either. I mean if he was out there going all out which he wasn't then I can see why it would be bad. But he was being very set back passing up shots to teammates, no issue on my part.

Some people just find reasons to cry on PSD....I agree, who cares?? I look at it as a positive thing when seein someone who likes playing the game....Someone said somethin like he can't do that during the "regular season", like you could do any better??? ANd he does do that during the regular season!

No one is really "crying" that he played. Everyone just thought it was weird because we rarely see a seasoned NBA veteran playing in the summer league.

The bolded part has nothing to do with us. JR Smith is a professional basketball player, there is a reason why he is playing in the NBA and it is because he is one of some of the best players in the country or maybe even world. We would not be on PSD if we were as talented as him. However, we could all collectively agree that 95% of PSD posters are probably smarter than him and can make better decisions in life. That is something we can compare with JR Smith.

I know! The announcer was like "The J.R. Smith!" and I was like, what is he doing there?

Then I was checking out his moves and I started cracking up cause these rooks are trying so hard to get to the nba, and he's making them look like crap!

All I know is I'd rather see him on a basketball court than in the headlines. So I'll take it.
