Every off-season, someone makes a thread about who is the top ten players in the nba. We start a thread with the best player, then we go down to 2nd best, 3rd best, 4th best, etc. Until we get to 10th best. Each thread will have a poll and the polls end in 24 hours for each thread. I don't know remember what the votes were last season because i did not make the threads last year, so we will just start fresh here :D.

1. Kobe Bryant
2. Lebron James
3.
4.
5.
6.
7.
8.
9.
10.

Due to a large landslide in votes, Lebron is #2, while kevin durant was in 2nd place followed by d-wade.

NOTE: these votes are public.

Who is the #3 player in the league?

Gotta be Wade...he is the total package and he's lead a team to the championship with Toine Walker as their 3rd best player...after the 2006 season there was a strong argument that he was the best player in the world...injuries derailed him a bit but the past few years he has been off the charts...I get the argument for Durant...and i'm a huge Durant guy...but I think Wade, at the moment, is slightly better...his playmaking and leadership makes the difference...

You can put Durant or Melo here, but im going with Wade. Wade is a great player and he finally has some "help"

Wade has a ring, Durant has none, therefore, out of Laker-Logic Wade is better.

Just f-ing around with the back-to-back champs lol.

Wade.

Should rightfully be Wade, but Durant, from what he's accomplished already, at the age of 21.

C'mon.
Durant had a breakout year.
Wade has a ring an a Finals MVP and has been playing with less talent around him than KD.

Sorry, Wade has to be the clear number 3.

Honestly, Durant cannot be looked at too high after having one good season.

Wade. Then KD. Then Howard. Then everybody else, headed by Melo.

I agree that Wade should be number 3 in the league. Durant had an outstanding year but he hasn't gotten out of the first round yet even. I know he will at some point but that's enough of a reason to have Wade still ahead of him.

To every Laker fan who isn't voting Wade here:

2010 1st round vs Boston:

33.2 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 6.8 apg, 56% FG.

We all saw how hard it was for anyone to play well against them individually this year in the playoffs. Wade was the only one who shot efficiently against Boston. Respect that.

Why is Gasol not on here? He is clearly a top 10 player? Led team in both PER and Win Shares on the season and led the entire playoffs in Win Shares last year.

Anyway, Wade played the best against the Celtics and had the better regular season except against Lebron.

Yeah, Gasol is better than Duncan at this point of their careers, yet only Duncan is on the poll. It doesn't matter for this particular poll, because neither of them should be in the discussion for third best player in the league, but once we get a couple more elite guys off the board you should make sure that there is never a point where an important player is missing the list.

This. KD is certainly #4 though, followed by Dwight. I love watching Durant play and think he will do great things this season. Will probably win the scoring title and I like the way OKC pairs up with the Lakers. I think they'll move into the 2nd round this year. The question is, who will they upset? Boston? Hawks?

Hard to decide between Carmelo and KD but since KD should have been 2nd, he gets 3rd by default. Wade better not win this.

Chris Paul isn't even top 5.

I'll rank Durant, Carmelo, and Howard over him. He's probably the best point guard though.

I never thought I would see something so dumb in my entire life. Why would any one vote for anybody besides Wade. It is blatantly obvious, what has Durant actually done to be considered even a top 5 player in the league. I can easily name and explain five players I would and should be put above him.

There's two types of people in this world - People who know how important the point guard position is and people who don't know basketball.

Chris Paul isn't even top 5.

I'll rank Durant, Carmelo, and Howard over him. He's probably the best point guard though.

Deron is the top PG IMO, better defender and rebounder than Paul and a far better shooter than Rondo. After Deron, its a toss-up between Paul and Rondo. Rondo is the best defensive PG in the league (with Billups), by far the best rebounder, and better passer than Paul and Deron, but its evened up because Paul is a much more consistent scorer while Rondo is a below average jumpshooter. Hard to put Nash in the top 3 when he sucks defensively, despite being the best offensive PG in the NBA.

Deron-Paul-Rondo are the first tier of PGs, Nash-Billups-Rose make up the second tier of the league's best PGs.

Agreed that they come after Carmelo, Durant and Howard.
