View Full Version : Top selling jersey 2010-2011???

Lost Art

With almost all other topics being covered already............here's an interesting one, who will have the best selling jersey next year?

Who will it be? With a lot of stars changing teams you'd think it would be a big year for jersey sales. I believe Kobe Bryant has had the top selling jersey for the past 4-5 years, but who will it be this year? Kobe again? Lebron? Bosh? Amare? Boozer? Wall? I would say that it'd be Lebron, but with all of this negative press I'm not so sure???

only reason threads like this are posted are to attract more attention to the Lebron James.

no way this thread is posted otherwise...thus why it wasn't posted before he made a decision and why its not posted later when we know where all the players will end up and play this season.

not enough LBJ talk? this is getting just sickening.

There is NO chance LBJ sniffs top 3 in jersey sales. I just don't think there enough bandwagon fans out there to get him up there. Nobody else is going to buy it, it's like wearing a bullseye. :P

I'll go with Lebron simply because he changed his team and the Heat bandwagon is on overload.

well kobe's has been the top since 2 or 3 years, and with all this negative attention lebron is getting now from pretty much everyone beside heat fans, i don't see that changing very soon or perhaps for a while. So Kobe

No Yao Ming?
He jerseys sell like crazy over in China...him, T-Mac, and Kobe.

My choice would be Yao
Kobe 2nd

This thread is so unnecessary. It's obviously going to be LeBron. He's the biggest superstar and he has a brand new jersey. Many people have Kobe Bryant Laker jerseys. No one has a LeBron James Heat jersey. And you can bet there are millions of people who want one.

I will be buying LeBron's jersey but I think Kobe's will be at the top since LeBron has seemed to lost a lot of fans in this process. His will be a close 2nd though.

It's definitely Lebron.

Lebron. He mighta lost a lot of people like us who actually follow basketball and know the whole story with Lebron. There are a lot of kids out there who will just buy a lebron jersey because he is on a new team and want that jersey.

How will LeBron get top jersey sales?

He just lost an entire city's fanbase, not to mention the other 5 teams he played with.

I would definitely expect it to be LBJ, although Amare could take a run at it. Kobe is usually the favourite, of course, but I don't think he can hold off the hype of the LBJ/Amare signings.
Also Wall will likely be up there.

JasonJohnHorn
07-11-2010, 12:33 AM
I am the only one who guessed Amare?
Come on, James and Bosh both have the former home town hate factor going for them. Miami fans and band-wagon jumpers will have to pick between wade, labron and bosh, but new york fans (which is the biggest city in the nation) will be buying up Amare's jerseys. LBJ will see an increase in jersey sales, as will bosh no doubt, and Kobe, well, everybody and their dog has already bought one, so unless he changes his jersey number again or gets traded, his number should be steady but not too high.

NYC is going to give a lot of love to Amare, and they have a LOT of fans, so I'm going with Amare.

I'm going out on a limb and say Kevin Durant. I'm really pulling for this kid, but he probably won't even crack the top 5. I do think though, more and more people will notice this guy and enjoy his play, thus buy his jersey.

Lebron will definitely get a boost in jersey sales because of 2 reasons:

1.) He's on a new team so that entire fan base will buy his jersey (including the bandwagon fans). Many Kobe/Lakers fans already have the Kobe stuff. He'll still sell a lot, but Lebron will have a surge in those who are buying them because of his new team.

2.) Many anti-Lebron fans could very well buy Lebron jerseys just to burn them. I personally think that's a waste of money, but some people do that none-the-less.

Lebron will definitely have an increase in sales this year, but I still voted for Kobe. Face it, Kobe will be more popular than Lebron ever would be. Lebron could have moved himself over the top, but he (or his camp) didn't exactly handle the "decision" that well. Many fans are pissed off.

I think someone who will have a big rise in jersey sales will be Kevin Durant. He's slowly becoming the newer face of the NBA. Very young player. Extremely talented. Yet he also seems like a great guy who is very humble. Lebron has been in the spotlight since day 1 and has experienced the perks that came along with it since day 1. Durant still seems the type who won't forget where he came from and what he had to go through to get where he is.

******* Lebron I'll never get anything lebron james again he just did a stupid move in my book! its like bye-ing everybody dinner but taking a shlt on it before anybody gets any

Amare will be top 4! david lee and nate robinson were high in jersey sales so the knicks adding amare he should crack top 4 if lebron went to NYC he'd be top

Lol entire fan base. I know this is just a forum but if it's any indication of what ppl think of him he won't sell nearly as much. If i see someone wearing a lebron jersey i will spit on them. Extreme, maybe but i'd spit on someone that supports traders so you know.

I was going to say this. He is my favorite player outside of the C's and I think the MVP is his next year (he should have won it this year). I can't even find a home swingman or replic jersey of his online from a reliable site...

Its going to be Lebron EASILY! He is still King James (2 top selling jerseys) and now he is on a brand new team. We got Heat fans buying that jersey as well as Lebron fans buying his new jersey.

But Amare is a sleeper for Top 3 though. NY always has someone in the Top 10 selling jerseys and Amare is a true allstar (something we havent had since 2004 version of Starbury!

LeBron has all the momentum right now despite the hate. I mean if the "Decision" can have higher ratings than any NBA finals game, that should say a thing or two about how big LeBron James has really become.

I wouldn't be surprised if its Amare. Wasn't Nate Robinson like in the top 5 at some point during his time at New York? Imagine how much they would sell with an All-Star like Amare.

Other than that I could see Kobe, LeBron, Durant, and Rose.
