whats left to sign supporting cast? Next seaon will be bananas!!!!!!!The only part of all this that's misleading is the whole thing about Lebron taking less. Sure he took less contract wise but lets be real about it. Anything loss will be made up by his endorsments.

#Cavs sign-and-trade deal with the Heat for #LeBron has not been finalized but will happen. Sources say Cavs will get 4 picks: 2 1st, 2 2nd

http://twitter.com/PDcavsinsider

TOR get trade exception, a previously dealt 1st rd pick back and MIA 2011 1st rd pick (lottery protected) for Bosh, Y! Sports has learned.

Each took a paycut of at least $2 million for the first year and about $14 million over 6 years. These guys committed. Maybe their marketing has been terrible and they took the easy way out - but they want to win.

You could say that no state income tax on their contracts and endorsements would make up a few million for each of them.

Haslem, Mike Miller,Joel Anthony,Raja Bell, Chalmers (+ any vet pg that fits and wants to play for the min - i.e - Jason Williams, A.I, Fish...)

ph and dont forget the rookies who could turn out as very good rolse players. (Dex pittman)

Whatever, thats not really taking a pay cut to win a ring... or multiple rings. Where are all of these Heat fans coming from? lol

Tony_Starks
07-10-2010, 12:42 AM
So if the salary cap is $58 milly and those deals along with Chalmers coming to about $44, then they should have about $14mil left to fill out the roster, not counting the player minimum right?

Thats not too shabby. Maybe you divy that up between Mike Miller and Haslem and call it a day... they could always bring back familiar guys like Q Rich, J Williams or Arroyo for the vet minimum....

it is uncommon for star players to give up money but cmon people its not like they dont already have enough money and still just got $100 million contracts. I think they'll survive. Also why did Bosh choose #1 instead of #4 ?

the thing nobody talks about is all of lebrands endorsement income is now state tax free. it is no coincidence that these divas are "toiling" in Florida.

Miami has 8.3 mil available for haslem and miller...Riley basically said we got haslem

shen
07-10-2010, 01:26 AM
Wade said Bosh took #1 instead of #4 to signify fresh start. Also they each have a early termination clause after 4 years. They will make up more then what they gave up inside of a month with all the promotional stuff they will do with "3 kings" thing. So give up what will be pocket change for them so they have more cap space to sign players.

I think there's 3.8 million left with Miller on board. Haslem might join for the vet min. The Heat then could make up the money to Haslem in 2011-12 and beyond.

They didn't give up money. The money they will make by playing together will eclipse what they lost. They have agents for a reason.

They would still make that money if they had taken the max, and have the max + all the money they make playing together, so yes, no matter how you look at it they gave up money.

No state tax on a Max would only save them 550,000 but they will pay higher property tax and plus insurance on hurricanes and all that stuff

Over a quarter of a BILLION paid out to these guys by the Heat, yet they have the nerve to say money wasn't a factor. With all the BS hype and endorsements this "Super Team" is getting, they probably each made 12 million yesterday alone. I don't want to hear any of these chumps saying that money was not a factor. If one of these multi-millionaire divas was ever gonig to impress me, they'd have to take the minimum somewhere. Until then, STFU with the "not about the money" ********.

Bitter much?

They did take a paycut and will not be earning as much as they could've. That is a fact. Which means this is not all about the money.

They are not there to play for $0 and impress the world with how they don't care about money at all and that poverty is a virtue. Why? Because poverty is simply not a virtue. They took the paycuts so that Miami Heat would have more options in recruiting other good players. As simple as that.

Earning money in life is good, but there are other things that have importance too, which Wade, James and Bosh are showing proof of.
