Derek Fisher has a meeting scheduled with Miami Heat president Pat Riley on Saturday, according to a source close to the situation.

According to a source, negotiations between Fisher and the Lakers have remained positive and the team has put an offer on the table that was stronger than what's been previously reported (one year, $2.5 million).

"We need to have him back, it's as simple as that," Bryant told ESPNLosAngeles.com's Dave McMenamin at his Kobe Bryant Skills Academy on the UC Santa Barbara campus. "It's not a question of if he will be back; it's a matter of when.

haha, you again? you will do anything to hate on the heat wont you?

Heres some more genius to hate on. Because we just signed and traded for both bosh and lbj, we get to use our exceptions and we get the bird rights on our own free agents. we now have great depth. hate on that. What was it that you were saying last week?

maybe riley should contact stockton, ewing and barkley while he's at it. reggie miller would be a great 9th man off the bench. lbj = ring chaser = coward

Smart move by Fish. He's trying to scare the Lakers into paying him what he wants, and if they call his bluff then he ends up playing with 3 of the best players in the NBA.

Well...There's only one thing left to do. Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol will be taking their talents to Disney King to visit Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic, and form a three-headed monster. Game over fellas.

This would be great. It would be backstabbing all over the place. Next all we would need is for Shaq to go back to LA and for the Heat to pick up Smush Parker and Kwame Brown.

I think this is a contract move, I don't think he would take less to leave the two time defending champs while Phil Jackson is coming back and Kobe is saying he wants him to stay.

Guess Fisher is going to be labeled a traitor as well, because he might want to play with Wade and Bosh.

Why is anyone concerned? The Lakers can offer more than the Heat, and the only thing thats keeping Fish from signing is money :eyebrow:

Lakers fans forget the age of Kobe. I wanna say 33? He has 1-2 high quality years in him at max before he declines

Actually if they sign Fisher, miami is much stronger team than Lakers.well not much stronger, lakers will still dominate the paint.

Let's get one thing straight, no one cheated here. Miami did the best thing there is to do, they just got lucky they had Wade before the sunmer. Wade is the leader here. He wanted to stay, he asked bosh to come and in return james followed. But who cares, there's plenty of top teams that can fight and win.

Fisher isn't leaving, Lakers can offer more. And that goes beyond money, how many rings does he have? And all with Lakers, not miami.

I just feel now if they won it wouldn't be a big deal, but if they lose that team that beats them would be heros and honored. I rather be on the team going up against the heat in the finals.

with fisher, the heat team would actually be deep just without a real good C. maybe shaq when he does sign

C
PF Bosh
SF Lebron
SG Wade
PG Fisher
6 Miller
7. Haslem
8. Qrich
9. Wright

The heat will win it all if they get Mike Miller, re-sign Haslem (since they have there exceptions) and a couple more role players

He's almost the perfect PG for the Heat.

Well Derek Fisher is scheduled to meet with Pat Riley about his potential future with what is now the "Miami Thrice." He would fit in well with the Heat and would take a small contract. The Lakers offered him 1 year, 2.5 million.

Benedict Fisher? Though the Lakers could replace Fisher and still be as good as they were before, I don't see Fisher leaving the Lakers for a team that very well could face them in the finals.

The Lakers offered Fisher a contract at $2.5 mil per year...Fisher wants $5 mil per year...get your facts straight...by the way, Fisher is just using Miami to leverage a better deal with the Lakers!

I would think this this free agency showed people that taking a paycut to play where you want to play is very very real.

That said, in this particular case I expect Fisher to stay loyal to LA.

We'll see.
