Do you think it would help the league if all free agents were restricted? Meaning teams had a chance to match whatever offers were made to their free agents. It would prevent big markets from having such a competitive advantage; it would prevent teams from sabotaging themselves just for a chance to sign someone; it would prevent teams from having to overpay to keep their own players (Joe Johnson, Rudy Gay). Free agency would still exist, but it won't be such a circus like it is this year. Free agency actually overshadowed the playoffs and finals in terms of media coverage. Overall, it would create more parity and make the game more interesting. What do you all think?

no. because if you dont want to stay with your team you are stuck if your team matches the offer. useless not really a free agent if you are still force to stay

No, and home teams already have the advantage of offering an extra year and larger raises = more money.

Poison pills can be added to the offer which can make the matching team refuse.

Never going to happen. In case you've forgotten, the players actually have to agree to the CBA.

I say no, but the league needs to change. The NBA is on a path to destruction. I don't know how to fix this but the clearing cap space needs to be fixed.

No, because some free agents want to win and would choose that over money. Also, after being in the league for a certain amount of years, you should have the privilege to choose a new team.

Imagine if a star player wanted to leave but his team matched every offer sheet and refused to trade him.

And it doesn't prevent teams from overpaying. Infact, some teams could be forced to overpay to keep a free agent. Besides, Rudy Gay was restricted.

No there all restricted FA's after there rookie contract. After a team pretty much has you for 8 years it's fair to let you or the market decide where you play.
