Will be done only if LeBron doesn't sign with Knicks,

Great Move for the Warriors. With Amar'e and Boozer leaving the west the Warriors can make push for playoffs.

Knicks get Defensive presence:
Randolph tremendous upside ! Question is, does he realize it?
Turiaf great energy. Injured too much !

What do you guys think?

I know nothing about Anthony Randolph. Does this kid have potential or would the Knicks be better off getting Ellis?

i like that deal.. i heard a lot of good things about randolph.. people in the knicks forum have been talking about that kid for a while now.. even before this scenario popped up.. and a tuff inside presence like turiaf is never a bad thing to have..
i loved DLee.. Golden State will definately love this guy too..

Getting Ellis .
Honestly everyone think he got potential because he's young but coming from an season injury i have no idea how he's gonna respond.

This.

Okay potential doesn't mean anything unless you proved it before ! People just say that because he's young! He's gonna be a role player at his best!
And how do you know this?

Hes young and has upside. Hes only 20. That is what you seem to be unable to get through your head.

If Warriors management & all of the fairweather fans actually were patient we could sit back and watch him get better.

he had a better rookie year. and he never really showed his offensive skills. no post moves no turn around or anything

He is extremely athletic and he has a great handle for a 7 footer. The rest can come on its own over the next few years.

Warrior fans keep forgetting we have Brandan Wright. I see him being better than AR IMO.
Wright has a better offensive game.

I would rather give up Wright than Randolph.

good trade, although i dont think randolph is a center.

the warriors still need to make other moves, but with ellis and curry chucking up shots lee will get a ton of rebounds.

and, his stats are not inflated. i'm sick of this.

Yes they are. Its nothing like being the only rebounder on the court. NY was one of the worst rebounding teams in the NBA, and they have been for awhile. Look at how his numbers dropped only when they acquired another rebounder in Zach Randolph. Then watch as they went back up once Randolph left where he then became the only rebounder on the roster.

Once again, look at how his numbers dipped once the Knicks gave Earl Barron playing time. When Earl Barron was on the court crashing the boards for a 10+ rebounding performance, Lee didn't even have 10 rebounds in those games. That is the same thing thats going to happen on another team where they actually have size in place who can grab boards.

His total rebound rate the year he played with Z-Bo was 17.5, it was at 17.9% this year..... I get that Z-Bo brought his rebounding rate down the same thing happened to Z-Bo's #'s when he got to play with Camby. Do we say Z-Bos rebounding was inflated? How about Camby, he saw his rebounding diminish alongside Kaman/Z-Bo, were his rebounding marks inflated in Denver? Where doe this stop, how about Ben Wallace, were his #'s inflated his entire career for playing alongside piss poor rebounders? I dont call that inflation, I call it the facts of the game. Its only inflation if you dont account for the teams effectiveness. And even then its not a HUGE player altering difference. Its not like Lee's extra rebound is going to change what we think of him. Not if you know what your doing, something most of these GM's should know.

Once again, look at how his numbers dipped once the Knicks gave Earl Barron playing time. That is the same thing thats going to happen on another team where they actually have size in place who can grab boards.
Whats going to happen? How many boards is he going to get, how drastically does this alter his rebounding #'s? I suggest you put forth more effort, Earl Barron had a rebound rate of 18.9%. His career average is 14.1, dont you think its more reasonable to think that it was a fluke run or are those 7 games more than enough to deduce that hes a better rebounder than Lee? If your saying 2 dominant rebounders cant put up the same stats individually, congrats, welcome to basketball 101. What matters is how the team reacts to their styles. If Lee is putting up 10 boards instead of 11 but the team hes on is a much better rebounding team, he is essentially producing the SAME stats. Its not inflation if your smart enough to account for team placement, and of course by accounting for pace.

Turiaf is what they need, Randolph, meh I guess. They coulda used a guard instead. Who are the NYK guards right now?

Chandler
Douglas...

They need a pg badly. Douglas is pretty decent, but still they gotta sign somebody to atleast back him up right?

Hes a great player, he plays hard. His stats per 36 are better than Bosh's when he was in his second year. Randolph is a freak athlete and is only 20 years old. He handles the ball like a PG and he is 6'11". Hes a gym rat and people are saying that he bulked up to 240 pounds.

there's honestly nothing to not like about him, except he plays a little too aggressively and gets in foul trouble.

I'm gonna really miss him if he leaves

The knicks get a lot of crap for not having a proven point guard, but i think Douglas will prove some people wrong when given the opportunity to start an entire year. not saying he is going to be billups or CP3 but i think the kid will be able to handle the point.

07-08-2010, 03:31 PM
This is a terrible trade for the Warriors... All it does is ensure them several years of an 8th seed appearance (at best) until Monta and Lee's contract run out. They needed to completely start over, starting with Curry, Randolph, and Udoh IMO. Everyone else should go and they should build through the draft and trades for picks and young players.

If the Warriors can't figure out a way to win or at least see the light of winning in the next few years how is Curry going to feel about resigning with them? Not good, thats how...

The Knicks should've gotten Vladimir Radmanovic in the deal as well.

Luke Ridnour/Toney Douglas/
Rudy Fernandez/Eddie House/
Danilo Gallanari/Bill Walker/
Vladimir Radmanovic/Anthony Randolph/
Amare Stoudemire/Ronny Turiaf/

Maybe the Knicks can deal for Rudy Fernandez and create the best shooting line-up in the NBA.

Well Knicks still need a PG, which is why I don't like this deal for Knicks. They should've been shopping Lee for a true PG, Douglas isn't starter ready imo, Turiaf will be alright I guess, but hes going to being starting, I think he is ideal for a back-up Center. If Knicks honestly don't land LeBron, I don't really like their roster for a playoff push.

29$JerZ
07-08-2010, 04:29 PM
Knicks need guards but I see why they do this if LeBron says no.
We need defense badly, it takes defensive players to even form some type of defense for the team so Randolph/Turiaf help there. We also get a nice guard for a running system which we hope to return too.

If LeBron doesn't come this definetely make me happy.

As of now

Toney - Billy - Wilson - Danilo - Amar'e
Azubuike - Rautins - Fields - Randolph - Turiaf - Jordan - Eddy

The only type of guards who matter for Mike are PG's and wing players who can hit the 3 .

I'm shocked Lee is worth that much in the open market, I think I read he will get 13million annually.
