EDIT 12:46 A.M. CDT
Chris Broussard: (http://twitter.com/Chris_Broussard)
Sources with knowledge of the situation indeed saying LeBron will join Wade and Bosh in Miami, barring a late change of heart

Alan Hahn is the New York Knicks beat writer for Newsday (New York newspaper, owned by Cablevision... who also owns the Knicks). Hahn does not work for ESPN and has no personal interest in the press conference.

I'm not even going to believe anything until LBJ says it.

People are posting "news" of him going to NY, NJ, Chicago, Miami and Cleveland every single day. So I don't know who to believe. Even ESPN writers have it all mixed up to where he is going.

got tweets from brussard and espn alerts all night. i get an espn alert saying bron was flying to miami. then 2-3 hours later i get a tweet from broussard saying lebron played a softball game with his friends and family in akron...

soooo take it for what you want. my thinking is that bron played a softball game to clear his mind for a bit and see how much he would miss Akron and the area. i think once the game ended he realized his friends and family will always be there and support him. hellllooo miami...lol i still don't know. i think the internet might crash tom. night cuz of the discussion about who lebron signs with...

Every reporter or want to be is going to pretend they know if you guess either NY MIA or CLE you got a %33.33 chance that your right.

LBJ Stat vs Wade Bosh would be pretty good to watch though. It would be a instant rivalry with both teams fighting over all the left over scraps of free agency. Way better then the new big three scenario.

If this were true, I think its solely to stop the Lakers...

Its not that much better than LA anyways....ever since Pau Gasol was just handed to them for nothing. You got Wade/Bosh vs Kobe/Gasol, and instead of LBJ and some vet min guys, LA has Bynum/Artest/Odom/Blake. The Lakers are stupid-stacked.

If a little dynasty is gonna make you guys stop watching the NBA, you should've stopped watching before the Lakers went to 3 straight Finals (and won 2) lol.

Evil Empire FTW!

Look, i like balanced/competitive basketball as well. Thats why I would be a little excited as an NBA fan to see Lebron go to NY. But dynasties happen all the time, it never stops me from watching because- a) they're exciting, and b) there's always a chance, though slim, that the underdog beats them.

Don't be so quick to pencil in Miami for the next 5 championships, if this does happen.

Lebron is not going to the HEAT!

who would do a 1 hour special on why you left your hometown city and how they are going to hate you forever.

all of this miami speculation and the knicks having a chance talk is so that an incredible amount of suspense builds and more people tune in to watch the special.

James will stay in cleveland on a 3 year deal.

Championships are won through defense and team basketball. that takes years and cohesion. Ray ray/pierce/and garnett all complemented each other. a shooter/a slasher/ and a post scorer who plays defense.

lebron knows this and that is why he wont sign in miami or ny.

He will give it another shot in cleveland.

And for all of you people who thinks he is a d bag: just remember that his PR group and managers are the ones who have most of the say in media specials and things of that nature. Lebron never told them to make a special and it was his PR group that came up with that. He also never told espn to talk about him 24/7

Save this post because I am about to look like NOSTRADAMUS tomorrow.

He's gonna look really really bad if he says he's leaving Cleveland... what a way to destroy Cleveland fans hearts...

That's the one thing that makes me think he won't leave. He's not that bad of a guy to have a 1 hour special saying he's leaving Cleveland and going elsewhere is he?

That's just excessive, it makes it easier for fans in all cities, especially Cleveland, if he just said "I'm going to ____".

I just find it odd that LBJ would announce it a day after the other 2. That's not a good start to me - it would show him wanting to be a bigger story than the other 2.

there was some rumor that lebron's people leaked bosh and wade's decision so he could have thursday all to himself

which sounds good for heat fans

He's gonna look really really bad if he says he's leaving Cleveland... what a way to destroy Cleveland fans hearts...

That's the one thing that makes me think he won't leave. He's not that bad of a guy to have a 1 hour special saying he's leaving Cleveland and going elsewhere is he?

That's just excessive, it makes it easier for fans in all cities, especially Cleveland, if he just said "I'm going to ____".

This guy really needs an hour to tell us something he can say in 5 seconds?

apparently he only needs 10 minutes. he will announce it in the first 10 minutes and then that stops the stupid suspense.

That's the only reason I could come up with for an hour long special. I'm sure he has a lot of explaining to do to his Ohio peeps after he tells the world he is leaving. I'm sure he will thank a lot of people in Akron and Cleveland and talk about how it will always be home to him but this was a business decision and sometimes you have to leave the nest to truly thrive, etc. Not that anyone in Ohio is going to want to hear it but I'm sure it's going to be 50minutes of him trying to keep from being hated by his home state.

But really....when your whole team are all-stars, is that really an accomplishment?
You need a good team to compete...but jesus...you don't need the entire roster to be stars

if bron does go, there is no more debate
Jordan > Kobe > Lebron

it would be terrible for the NBA, stern should step in

**** LBJ

Unbelievable.
Thanks for ruining the NBA.

Is Broussard smart?

i'll give up on the nba then

well guess im done with the nba....
whens bears training camp start

This is pathetic.. Good to see the NBA allows the players to control the league and not the owners/executives.

I wonder if Stern realizes how much he just hurt the league by allowing this to happen?

I just became a fan of 28 other teams.

Miller is in the same conv. as Magic, MJ and Bird?

But yeah they will discredit Kobe and say how the Heat doesn't have a supporting cast while Kobe is playing with great role players.

Off topic but Miller is so not top 5 all time.

My 2010-2011 Miami Heat Team

C: Shaq/Juwan Howard/Dex Pittman
PF: CB4/Theo Ratliff/Jarvis Varnado
SF: Lebron/Beasley/Da'Sean Butler
SG: Wade/McGrady/AI
PG: Chalmers/Jason Williams/Marbury

Obviously no chance of this but it would be an awesome team.

I hope he goes there. It would be great. Plus can you imagine the pressure now to win? Some feel it will be less because wade and bosh are there. Wrong it is going to be more. Wade has a chip and Bosh as of yet isn't in the same league as the top tier players in this league(he's won absolutely nothing at all and his teams usually suck) Pressure will be all on Lebron to win a title. Gonna be fun to watch to see if he fold or actually becomes a leader.

thank you! Everyone saying that this is horrible, and that there's no reason to watch. What if they DON'T win? Can you imagine how bad that would look for Wade, Bosh and especially Lebron? Isn't that reason enough to tune in? Fans of 29 teams would be rolling over with laughter, and Lebron's legacy would be severely tarnished.

imagine how much crap he'll get if he goes to the heat with wade and bosh and they dont win. it might be too much pressure to win if he goes there. they'll be expected to win and if they dont, his legacy will slowly diminish. i say knicks

Lebron and Amar'e vs. Wade and Bosh

well, you would still only have 5 players on the team, you will need to sign 7 more and they have to at least be decent and not a pile of ****. The playoffs have proven that every time.

I'm pretty sure at this stage i would trust Riley in building a team and i really don't see Wade , Bosh and maybe LBj tomorrow worry too much about the rest of the roster...they must know something so stop worrying

lol at the Lebron hate. The dude is doing what he thinks will win and is taking less money to do so. He probably would have liked to win in Cleveland, but no other star player would commit to coming there. Plus lets not forget he is 25 years old. He still has plenty of time to make his legacy what he wants it to be.

If Lebron, Wade, and Bosh win multiple championships (like they should),they will have been apart of a team that will be compared to the all time greats. If this happens, I think this just shows that Lebron is more about winning than anyone ever gave him credit for.
