James, Wade and Bosh to discuss plans

LeBron James(notes), Dwyane Wade(notes) and Chris Bosh(notes) are expected to share a conference call on Wednesday to discuss free agency and try to move closer to finalizing their decisions, a league source with knowledge of the plan told Yahoo! Sports.

The three players are motivated to reach resolutions and make their choices public by Thursday, several sources told Yahoo! Sports. The stars and their agents with CAA continued on Tuesday to churn through numerous machinations and possibilities.

“Everything is still in play,” the source said.

James has the Cleveland Cavaliers, Chicago Bulls and New Jersey Nets as his top three choices, sources said. Still, Cleveland has reemerged as the leader to keep James and Cavaliers officials are confident the two-time MVP will choose to re-sign with them.

Bosh and Wade are still considering playing together with Miami, Chicago and New Jersey, sources said. Wade hasn’t committed to re-signing in Miami and is still strongly considering the Bulls. He is intrigued with the talent that would surround him with the Bulls, as well as family considerations that would benefit from proximity to his ex-wife and children in Illinois.

Chicago and New Jersey need to make deals to eliminate more salary off their cap to accommodate two maximum contract players.

I'd rather the players have more power than the teams. This doesn't bother me.

Scary? Sure. But if they want to win, and make some sacrifices, why should the league stop them? It's just like any other workforce in the world...people go where there are good opportunities, good people, good bosses, good colleagues, a good work environment where success is attainable etc.

More power to them.

1. this is ridiculous, even if they don't sign on the same team players in the league are friends with players on other teams...tell you what you aren't allowed to talk to your friends or family until your retire because they might influence your decisions and lead to you being more successful and happy in life

This telepresence call is pointless. They can't all sign with the same team, since Miami hasn't dumped Beasley, rumors notwithstanding, and no other team can sign all 3. Further, Bosh doesn't want to go to Cleveland, nor does Wade, so that really shortens the viable teams that can sign two of them.

Basically the three will be discussing "no hard feelings" sentiments when they all go their separate ways.

Specialist13
07-06-2010, 11:17 PM
At this point, each player still has great options open. IMO, I think CB4 needs to rethink the whole Cleveland thing. He gets a MAX deal & plays with the best player in the game. If Bosh is really about "winning" as he's claimed in the past, it's a no brainer. Wade needs to go to either Chicago or NY. I think Wade in D'Antoni's system would be amazing. Miami has no movement & has become stagnate. Everybody talks about them landing another star, but the need to get a roster completely! They only have 2 players under contract...

If they want to dominate the league (which was the whole point of them shopping around in the FA market) , they'll realize that 2 or all 3 would have to team up.

Yes, but your hatred for the Heat is astounding. If they land Wade and Bosh, they can easily build a contender with the rest of their cap space. Players will line up to play with 2 all-stars. If they land all 3 of them, players will also line up to play with them and they can sign solid players with the vet minimum. It's not guaranteed Miami will win big, but Wade is most likely staying in Miami and Bosh is probably coming with him. We'll just have to wait and see.

The roster thing is very overblown by Bull fans.

It isn't hatred for the Heat in the slightest. The reality is you are dealing in a lot of "what if's" and the team right now plain and simply sucks. Beas is such a fantastic piece to build around that teams are lining up to take him out of South Beach...

It was a big risk, and it may pay off or it may blow up in their faces. As of right now the team is a joke and hardly appealing to anyone besides for the money factor unless Wade returns.

Bosh-Wade would compliment each other very well in Miami if Bosh decides to come here (he most likely will). A Chicago team with Lebron would be extremely tough to beat. Even though Miami would have a contender with Wade/Bosh, Chicago will easily be favorites to win the East. So that's false. However, I highly doubt Lebron leaves Cleveland. If he does, I see him either going to Miami or joining Amare and the Knicks. I say it's Cleveland-NY-Miami in that order.

Miami only has 2 players, yes, but you are also saying what if. What if Wade leaves is your scenario. They suck I guess because they only have 2 players, but FA signings hasn't started yet. Nobody knows what's going on. If we lose Wade, they can still build a solid team with their money, but it would be a quick out playoff team.

High-risk, high-reward. And you come off too negative. It's like you almost expect Miami to crash and burn. The Bulls could also lose out on FA. Like the other guy said, don't underestimate Pat Riley.

I just want to get this over with. Heat fans are excited, yet worried at the same time lol.

So why bother now? Lebron isnt going to Miami. Bosh wont go to Cleveland. Whats there to talk about? Chicago? People keep forgetting you still dont have enough for 2 max players. Bosh is gonna end up with Wade in Miami. Without any help James is going to the Knicks for a chance at his own legacy. Rose would prefer Johnson and Noah already dissed him and his town.

No offense but that second paragraph has way too much personal speculation. I don't doubt that you could be right but it sure as hell isn't a fact at this point. Anyone who says they know how this whole bonanza is going to shake out is kidding themselves. Why? Because I don't see lebron going to the Bulls? I just don't see him going there. It's not like I'm going around saying the bulls suck. The whole deadline for him to sign and sending him a case of rings and shoes was not going to work IMO. Miami has Wade and they are good friends (I don't see him going here), NY is global city that would make Lebron a even bigger star and he would do well, or he will stay in his homstate if he is extremely loyal. On the other hand, the other bulls fan said the Heat currently suck and thinks Miami is going to ultimately fail in FA.
