The Celtics have scheduled a meeting with free-agent Kwame Brown for Wednesday in Orlando.

"We're checking out a lot of possibilities - it's still very early in the process," Danny Ainge said.

Boston is expected to look at a number of big men, including Shaquille O'Neal, who Ainge says the team hasn't set up a meeting with yet.

"He lives pretty close to (the Orlando Summer League), so he's going to drive down to meet with Danny and Doc," said agent Mark Bartelstein. "They want to get to know him a little bit."

This guy knows how to stick around in the NBA. Hes not really that bad. If he were some late 2nd round pick, people would be saying he put together a good career so far.

No. Kwame is some ****. I think everyone on here agrees with that.

The problem is hes not that bad when you compare him to the NBDL caliber C's who are available. Kwame or Greg Stiemsma? :laugh2:

It's funny how he is able to stick around while being so bad. I could understand getting injured and forced to retire and that making you a bust, but the fact that he is still in the league and still terrible is amusing.

look, theres a difference between not living up to expectations and just plain out sucking.

kwame brown is a fine player for the role he has been filling, which is a backup big man.

kwame brown is an awful player for the role he was thrown into at the beginning of career, a number one pick and franchise cornerstone.

its not his fault jordan picked him and paid him. im not a huge fan of his but its not like he shouldnt be in the league. people just knock him because he has failed so miserably to live up to the original expectations that surrounded him.

Real good low post defender, better OFF. player than PERK(skill talent wise) and could be a better version of PERK but PERK does his dirt in the trenches where it counts in the playoffs/Finals ...

This.

Good thing people have started to forget about him. Busts usually dont play this long. Hes only 28 and hes entering his 10th season in the NBA. Pretty impressive.

Hes made $50 Million in his career.

Yes.

man in a proper stuation he can still start and put 10 ppg and 8 rpg.

ina good team he can be a good bench player, and put up 5 and 6 with some bocks and good defense.

if they dont OVERpAY is a good signing.

WOuldnt mind hi back in lakers, he is better thn mbenga.

I dont think its a horrible idea. He's a big physical body who could fill in for the role Perkins plays pretty well. He's not as tough, and Perk has more offensive game, but why not?

Those were the days....

I still can't believe Dr. Bus allowed Kobe to be surrounded by a starting line-up of.

1. Smush Paker- who hasn't been in the NBA since playing 19 games with the Clips in 2007-2008.
3. Lamar Odom- now a 6th man
4. Brian Cook- who played a total of 44 minutes for Houston in 2009-2010.
5. Kwame Brown averaged 14 MPG in Detroit.

I don't think it's a bad move the The C's though- Kwame can be effective if he has the right role and doesn't have all the pressure in the world bearing down on him. The pressure he had in LA was never fair.

You know it as well as anyone, we were relatively lenient on Kwame for a good portion of his time in LA. It got extremely ridiculous though towards the end in 2007, who can ever forget the infamous night in Staples where we booed him every single time he touched the ball and he turned it over every single possession.

With that said, I would love to have him back so he can somewhat redeem himself and give us quality backup minutes. He was still a great defender back then and having him behind Bynum would not leave our paint as vulnerable when we have the two gossip girls Gasol and Odom in.

#Celtics Doc Rivers on whether workout with Kwame Brown was what he expected. "Better," Rivers said. "He's a better athlete than I thought."

"I wouldn't mind having him on our team, I can tell you that," Rivers said of Kwame Brown. "He could help us."

Took the words right from my mouth. If he wasn't drafted #1 overall people would never mention his name. That ended up being a curse. He isn't that bad of a player but he's shouldn't have been drafted any higher than 15.
