Which has been the biggest offseason story?

Where LeBron goes or FA itself?

Where LeBron goes.

It is extremely rare when the #1 player in the NBA becomes available as a FA or via trade.

If only Kobe didn't sign that extension (didn't he have an option year this year and could've opted out?). FA 2010 would've been ridiculous.

It's both I think.

It's make or break for Knicks, Bulls, Heat, Nets and even the Cavs.

There's also Wade, Bosh and Stoudemire which could move and create a contender in some place. If Lebron joins one of Bosh/Amare, then it will be about Lebron eventually, as they will probably make it to the NBA finals. But we've seen Lebron on his own, and he can't win the championship without any real help.

So if Wade & Bosh sign for Miami, and get a couple of role players as well with their cap space and Lebron does not join Amare, then it will be Lebron's mistake. (there's no way he could go some place else that has space & star, Chicago cannot be a real contender with Lebron and his mini-me)

word and if Melo agreed to the same contract as Wade, Bosh and Lebron, it would've been insane.

I like the angle Melo took. He won't be directly compared to any of the other guys this way if he opts out next year and gets the spotlight on him. He'll be the number one guy instead of the third or fourth option.

Anywho, Lebron is definitely the star. Amare doesn't have his own category on the Sportscenter bottom line. Lebron does. And where lebron goes affects everything.

No matter which current NBA star was a Free Agent Kobe or otherwise this FA offseason is all about LeBron.

No question, this is the summer of LeBron. Anything else that happens this offseason comes second to that. It is what it is.

I'd like to say it's FA itself but who am I kidding. We know this is pretty much LeBrons Free Agency Off-Season.

You mean Kobe is a FA right now?

If Lebron stays in Cleveland than the FA itself is not that special. It only becomes big if he leaves, like Shaq did in the summer of 1996.

It just seems like FA is more important, but the media will obviously portray where LeBron goes as the biggest story. Even though with players like Wade, Bosh, Amar'e, JJ, Boozer, Dirk, Lee, etc.

Lebron. This whole off season has always been about where he's going to go more then anything

lebron is 6'8" 250 lbs
free agency doesn't have a weight or height

therefore lebron is bigger

its has to be Lebron cause on espn they give you an update every 10-15 mins to let you know what the newest rumor is or what a "source" from his camp said

I agree, but I also find it funny how he's been the most quiet superstar in my opinion since July 1st came.
