The NBA Players Association has issued its latest warning about a possible lockout in 2011.

The memo, obtained by ESPN.com, advises agents leaguewide who are worried about players who might have "difficulty budgeting" over the next year in advance of a potential lockout "can and should negotiate an 18- or 24-month payment schedule for [their] 2010-11 salary."

The memo continued: "This will allow [the player] to receive paychecks throughout the course of the 2011-12 season, regardless of any lockout."

This is why everyone is returning. The Cav's can offer James more then anyone else. The Heat can offer Wade more then anyone else. The Hawks can offer Johnson more then anyone else. The Mavericks will offer more then anyone else for Dirk. These guys are going to take the best offer with this new agreement coming. Guys like Amare will move because Phoenix doesn't want to pay him as much as other teams, but free agents who's current team has interest in offering them max contracts will get most of them.

the same owners who are going to lock out the players cuz they get paid too much, are the same ones that just gave Rudy Gay and Joe Johnson max contracts.

So first they're gonna pay them, and then give them a mandatory vacation?

What's funny is even if there is a lockout teams like Atlanta/Memphis are going to have some of the most paid contracts in the NBA. The whole point of the lockout is going to be to decrease the maximum salary, watch Joe J and Gay be among the leaders.

This is why people are opting out pf 15+ million dollar deals. They want stability over time rather than a quick cash in

So this is why Richard Jefferson opted out. Sounds like it might be getting pretty serious.
