I believe this deserves it's own thread.

http://blogs.suntimes.com/bulls/2010/07/lebron_decision_expected_by_mo.html

After nearly two months of speculation, teams finally can sit down and speak with NBA free agents.

The biggest free-agent prize is LeBron James and he was scheduled to hold his first meeting with the New Jersey Nets at 9 a.m. on Thursday. Next on the schedule was the New York Knicks at noon.

The Bulls are expected to meet with James sometime on Friday.

James has let teams know that he doesn't want to drag out this process and wants to make a decision by Monday.

Thank god!

I hope it doesn't turn into a Odom-esque signing, like last offseason!

I heard on ESPN that he said he wanted to make a decision by the 5th because he doesn't want this to drag out. So this doesn't surprise me.

For some reason, I find that hard to believe.

I thought I remember hearing somewhere that David Stern actually reached out to LBJ and asked him to reach a decision in a relatively short time frame.

Has the Cleveland meeting last on Saturday, puts the Cavs in good position here.

I want a video of him opening his mouth and actually saying this. Otherwise, like most of these rumors, it is just ********.

However, that would be great if his decision did come on Monday. As soon as he signs everyone else will figure out what they will do.

According to ESPN’s Ric Bucher, LeBron James said he wants to decide where he’s going by July 5th. He plans on meeting with two teams per day, starting Thursday. And he could have a decision made by the Fourth of July.

I already saw the link. I'm just saying I highly doubt LeBron makes a decision by Monday.

x2. Very un-james like, considering he likes this kind of attention. I'll be glad when all this is over, too many speculations. Whichever team LBJ goes to becomes an instant contender. IMO LBJ will go to the team with the MOST to offer, and I'm not just talking about money.

You guys think there is any chance that one of these other big names (wade, bosh, boozer, amar'e, johnson) sign somewhere before LeBron?

I remember hearing on ESPN radio the other day that it was expected that LeBron would take 5 days to make his decision...according to his camp. Monday would be the 5th day.

If he does decide then, expect a significant amount of activity following it. When he signs is when the fun begins.

It's gonna be Cleveland. Sorry Chicago, NY, NJ, and other Miami fans.

I think either Wade or Bosh will be the first to sign.

The perception and the reality don't always match up. If that statement were really true then LBJ would beginning his tour right now. It seems as if LBJ is getting some good advice on how to minimize the negative impact this decision has on him for every city he spurns.

Monday seems like a very good bet on getting his decision.

I could see Wade but I doubt it would be Bosh. First off, I think he is going to be tarded as a part of a S&T and I think he will want to know where some of these guys are going. I could see Boozer go somewhere early and it looks as if JJ is going to re-sign with the Hawks for a max deal.(I guess atlanta got a little scared)

Well, my process of thinking is that if he signs with Miami, he has to know Wade is staying, and I don't think Wade will re-sign until he actually sees the Heat do something.

Yeah and like Ric Bucher said, everyone else will make their decision on that day as well. Hopefully we don't have to wait until July 8th to hear some major news.

If these guys were all going to go back to their original teams why did they not take max extensions and still hit FA in their prime?

Cleveland, Chicago or N.J.

THIS. The reason for the nets i agree, is because the owner has made a mathmatical detailed plan for Lebron to be a billionare if he joins the nets, Ill try to find the link i read yesterday on yahoo

I think him and jay z are going to meet him, since he is a minority owner

Yes, I think there is a chance. I think it would be a smart move for a team that doesn't think they have a legitimate shot at signing James to approach one of those FA's and tell them how they want them more and don't care where Lebron goes. Make them feel important. I'm sure the FA's don't like feeling second rate to LBJ. They all have ego's, feed into that and make them feel like they were priority and the number one FA as much as possible.

I'm hoping its the Clippers or the Nets.

It will be decided by Monday. His camp starts then, and all reports suggest that he wants to have a decision by then because he'll be in the public spotlight by then, and it would just make life easier if it was known where he was going.

I'm hoping its the Clippers or the Nets.

Clips have the most current talent on their team to offer LBJ. I'm just not sure if he wants to play in the city where Kobe and the Lake show clearly have the most significance until he retires.

I wonder if after he makes his decision by Monday, will other big signings start happening really quickly?

I have a question, how many jobs can Lebron bring to a city? The way that fans have bee luring crazily for Lebron's services, I dont think it's pure basketball frenzy.

he said he has a camp that opens july 5th and doesnt want to have to worry about it anymore and be able to focus on the kids.

I personally want Miami, but I honestly think itll be cleveland.

He's not going to Cleveland or Miami, I can say that much.

Bron was done with Cleveland once the Celtics series was over. Ego wise he doesnt want to play in Miami. Wade himself has given up on the idea.
