who you got?

Some of these guys have been hampered by injuries, some were overpaid to begin with and arent good enough to play to what they make. In Gilberts case he's an idiot no other way to put it.

personally i would say either hedo turkoglu or elton brand

both are supposed to be borderline all-stars but are really crippling their team both on the court and cap wise unless they turn there play around somehow

for the team, or player? because if i was gordon hayward id take nothing less then a max deal.

I'd have to say Brand. It's so bad that they were going to give away their lottery pick with him. He is done.

Do you mean "if JJ signs that RUMORED contract with Atlanta" or just sign with Atlanta either way?

I don't understand people. Okay we can suck again just so other fans can feel happy that we dumped JJ to go sign with a team that has Wade/Lebron/Bosh. YAY!

If they sign him to the rumored max it WILL be the worst contract.

So can Brand, who played better and in more games this past season.

Both are still awful contracts.

I would say Mike Redd, but besides him always being hurt he can actually play, Eddy Curry cannot.

No he doesn't.

Rip will age better then Brand though. Three years from now Rip will still probably be a 16 PPG guy.

Maybe, Brand doesn't rely on athleticism on either end of the court. Rip could continue to decline and if you look at similar SGs at his age/minutes, it's likely that he will fall off the cliff.

More importantly, the 76ers didn't dump a player of Billups quality just to sign Brand.

Gilbert then Rashard. Peja only has one year left, so that's hardly the worst contract.

I first thought Brand but then remembered Michael Redd's deal. Injuries have ruined this guy, and he was and will always be a one demensional player, he either hit's three's or misses them, (lately it's been the latter) and that is all he does.

Rip has 2 seasons left on his contract, while Deng has 4. Offensivly Deng is just a cheap imitation of Rip, so how you critisize one over the other is beyond me.

I thought about voting Curry because he doesn't even suit up, but his deal is finally ending so he is off the hook.

Worst collection of contracts are a tie between the Dubs and Deee-troit basket-ball!

Gotta be one of Arenas, Brand, Hedo, Rip. I think Gordon will be better this year.

Those EC's are pricey but are also coming off the books next summer. I'd much rather have someone like Redd at $18 million for one year instead of Hedo at $11 million for the next 4.

IMO, id rather have a borderline allstar guy or atleast a guy that plays on my team then a player who is so far deep down the bench that I couldve used that money on someone else!

its like saying your rather have Diop over Brand. Sure Brand's overpaid but atleast hes a starter and effective when healthy, but Diop? how deep in the bench is he? injury or not!

If Joe Johnson signs with the Hawks for 6 years at max salary, he jumps to the front of the line.

I said Charlie V, simply because of how much Detroit dropped the ball last summer. Those two signings set that franchise back a good 5 years.

If Joe Johnson signs with the Hawks for 6 years at max salary, he jumps to the front of the line. At least Joe Johnson can play at an All-Star level for a few more years. Elton Brand can't and Gilbert Arenas can't stay on the court so I'd still put those 2 ahead.

Michael Redd...it's a shame he's probably never going to be able to play again, dude has been getting injured right as he steps onto the court.

You're right, I totally forgot about that. They're not in competition now, they miss the summer of 2010, and they won't have any cap space for a long time.

I think you have to look at it in context. For Detroit, his contract along with Gordans makes them ineligible for this summers FA bidding, and for many summers after that. They aren't good enough to make them contenders either, so they'll be stuck at this middle ground mediocrity for the next five years.

top 2 is easily brand vs arenas. if curry had as many years left on his deal as either of those two do, i woulda said curry, but since he's comin off the books, i voted brand. at least arenas can still play (for anyone but the wizards) but brand just fell off sooo hard. but who knows, maybe he'll fit in better in collins' system.

but seriously, i would trade eddy curry for a box of krispy kremes, if eddy doesnt eat em first!

Yeah, Detroit fans are really pissed that we didn't get to go spend 30 million on Channing Frye or Amir Johnson.
