Check out your team's roster right now.

Sacramento & Dallas right now have the best teams so far. Sacramento is going to look good against everybody with basically all 5 of their starters on the court.

Lol, they have Jamahl Mosley on the Nuggets roster. Only problem is that he's a coach, not a player.

Our starting lineup is supposedly
C: Zoubek
PF: Favors
SF: James
SG: Twill
PG: Uzoh

not bad. I'm glad we don't have to share a team with the sixers again.

I didn't check the Sixers roster but that's nice. Speights going for another round is gonna be interesting. Him and Favors are gonna go at it today. We'll see how good Favors' defense really is. Twill vs Evan Turner :yum:
Should be a good game to watch.

Raptors have a decent roster: Derozan, Weems, Ed Davis, Amir Johnson and Solomon Alabi. We're just missing a PG.

Also, I didn't know Darius Miles was going to be in the Summer League.

Mike Sweetney is also going to play for the Wizards this year.

What?!?! Amir Johnson is going? Hasn't he been in the league 4 years already?

What makes folks inelligible for the summer league (if that's even possible)?

Amir Johnson isn't listed as going.

Toronto Raptors:
Solomon Alabi
Ed Davis
DeMar DeRozan
Joey Dorsey
Sonny Weems

Thats their roster as of now for Vegas Summer League.

I think you are ineligible if you have been with a team for more than 2 years. DJ Augustin is supposed to be there with the Bobcats, but hes ineligible to play because he is still with the Bobcats.

FA's are able to play.

Jazz roster doesn't look to be shabby, hopefully Gaines can play well enough to unseat Ronnie Price as our back-up PG for the regular season and maybe Gordon Hayward can impress too. Also excited to see how our athletic second rounder does.

We have gerald green:D

Lakers should hold onto Green.

Los Angeles Lakers:
4 Derrick Caracter
3 Devin Ebanks
8 Gerald Green
31 Rob Kurz F 6-9 230 3/5/85 Notre Dame
7 Ibrahim Jaaber G 6-2 170 2/3/84 PENN
34 Ben McCauley
36 Andrew Naymick C 6-11 235 2/18/85 Michigan St.
32 Frank Robinson G 6-4 193 6/1/84 CS Fullerton
15 Tyler Sanborn C 6-10 270 3/1/88 Guilford College
44 Coutney Sims
2 Dj Strawberry

Thats a pretty solid team.

They should keep Caracter, Ebanks, Sims, Strawberry & Green. Caracter & Ebanks could spend this season in the NBDL getting PT. Sims, Strawberry, & G-Money can battle for the remaining roster spots. Green could still be special if he can learn anything from their staff & vets.

Henderson is showing this is beneath him at this point. I want Turner / Holiday to show that tonight as well.

How the Sixers starting back court come the regular season is the starting summer league back court as well, is a little unfair to all of the non drafted rookies that will have to go against them this summer. :p

Last year Orlando Summer League was free and streamed online. They should've kept it that way. Oh well.

Rockets starting 5 is very solid.

PG: Blake Ahearn (2008 D-League Rookie of the Year)
SG: Jermaine Taylor (In 3 starts last season he dropped 15 vs Kobe, 14 vs Wash, and 14 vs Sac. He's a scorer)
SF: Chase Budinger (Top 15 Rookie last season)
PF: Patrick Patterson (#14 Pick)
C: Jordan Hill (Last years #8 Pick, stepped up after trade to Rockets)

I really like Charlottes roster- glad to see PJ Tucker getting another chance.
Love NJ having 3 former UT teammates in AJ, Connor Atchley, and Damion J.

The Kings view him as a PF in the NBA. He's pretty mobile for his size an actually has a decent jumpshot. Since he's pretty skinny they feel he has a better shot at defending 4's.

Byron Mullens with 24 pts and 7 rebs, got alot stronger over the summer. Harden only 2 for 6 from the field but constantly in attack mode, 15 for 18 from the free throw line. Lance Stephenson looked great earlier, always felt he had an underrated floor game, now can he stay in front of NBA points?

Turner is awesome.

#4 for Philly is some booty. He took a runner from like 15 feet out.

Favors is going to be in huge trouble in the NBA. He is very very raw. Hes already got 6 fouls. He needs a lot of work on defense.

Damion James is a Man! He has a grown mans game. If he works on his shot he could be a starter.

This dude Atchley is playing like he wants to be in the NBA. He is trying to knock down 20 footers and hes playing good defense.

T-Will has really impressed me in this game, and probably the most out of all the players i've seen on this first day of Summer League.

Each year, a 2nd year guy really breaks out... I think it could be Williams this year if he gets sufficient minutes (which I assume he will with CDR gone).

With the free agency frenzy of signings that's about to begin in a few days, I'm sorry, but I think this just does not take precedent.

That said, those who are interested in the summer league (and I definitely count myself among them) can keep this thread afloat by posting in it.

I don't think anyone who knows anything about Orton or the draft expected him to contribute anytime soon. I assure you this is not a shock to anyone in the Magic front office. He is the definition of a project. We didn't have any glaring needs that had to be addressed via the draft, or at least there wasn't anyone who could step right in with pick #29. So we drafted a big guy, with a ton of upside, who was admittedly raw and not-refined, and hope that in 2-3 years he can be a great back up for Dwight.

But he was never expected to be a back up this upcoming season. I don't think the Magic brass are worried at all. Not one bit. It's the freaking summer league.

I agree man, I may have sounded like he's a disappointment but he's not. 1 year in college as a backup to Cousins and averaging 3ppg has project written all over it. He shoulda stayed in school for another year atleast though for his own personal development.

But yeah, maybe 3 years he'll be ready to contribute, the Magic already have a deep frontline, and if they trade for Boozer it won't really matter.

I said before this summer league that the Sixers squad has to easily go undefeated. Players like Holiday, Turner, Meeks, and Speights are expected to get some big minutes on the NBA level (Holiday + Turner as the starting back court) so they shouldn't lose to teams full of undrafted free agents, and 1st and 2nd round picks of 2010.

I guess I'm looking more at the individual players games more than team success at this point. Especially with Holiday and Turner.

If he would have stayed he would have been exposed and his stock would have fallen. Happened to a lot of players. Kudos for declaring for the draft and getting 2 years worth of guaranteed checks!

Do you know if it works for NFL? Last year I tried to find good feeds for some of the Packer games I couldn't watch on cable, but I just couldn't find any.

I really liked what I saw from George and Stephenson tonight, although I don't think that 7th steal should've been credited to George unless there is some rule I don't know about. Regardless, future is looking better for the Pacers.

I'll wait til 5 for the Jersey game. The first game doesn't seem too interesting and the second will be in the middle of the WC semifinal.

It is.

Summer League is kinda like high major college basketball. These guys are playing their *** off for a chance at a NBA career.

Very impressed with Damion James. Not so much with Favors.

Someone did a stats thing and came up with Damion James as the most NBA ready player from this year's draft. http://dberri.wordpress.com/2010/06/30/post-draft-analysis/
Whether that's true or not remains to be seen. Very nice game though.

Favors is raw as heck and fouls like Sean Williams.

From what I've seen of Terrence Williams, he has been very impressive. I really like this game. He looks better than James Harden from what I've seen.

i am excited to watch lance stephson play
I think the Knicks made a huge mistake by passing on this guy...a NY product who played really well the last game (7-10 from the floor)

Allstar21

lance is playing pretty well but he needs to learn to some court vision. he currently has no assists and a few turnovers

Heyward looks lost. Might be a bust pick for pacers. I can tell McRoberts has played a bunch in the NBA already. He looks better than everyone else mechanics wise.

Koufos is playing OK too. The Jazz are really going to need him this year to back up Okur and Millsap.

 I thought he'd get drafted cuz he had pretty much the same measurements as DeJuan Blair.

Who has Uconn recruited for next season? Kemba should shine without Dyson in the way.

sum dude named Roscoe who is the #7 SF in the country

We lost out on a few big name PG cuz walker didn't go to the draft

They also got a PG named Shabazz but i can't tell if he is graduating high school early or what.

It doesn't really matter tho, Calhoun might be one of the worst coaches of all time now. He has just absoultly lost his touch with the modern basketball player. Stanley Robinson was a surefire prospect and Calhoun destroyed him. Look how much better AJ price and Rudy Gay are doing now that they aren't scared shitless that they will be pulled if they make one tiny mistake.

I dunno if you are familiar with the UCONN campus but there is a high school that is right on next to campus ( E.O. Smith). The center on their bball team is going to UCONN...although as a PF. Pretty cool that a home town kid is going to be able to play for them.
