The Celtics have their mid-level exception available to sign Miller, 34, who has the versatility to play the power forward and center spots for them. Several contenders are expected to pursue him, but sources say that the chance to play for the defending Eastern Conference champions has significant appeal to Miller.

It makes sense and it doesn't. Brad gives them offense, passing, and has to be accounted for. However his defense, shot blocking, and rebounding aren't that great.

I guess they have to look at him though as all they have is KG and Baby, so the need for a 3rd big is great be it JO, Shaq, or Brad Miller.

i think itd be a good fit

06-27-2010, 09:42 PM
I think that would work. They are going to have to go all or nothing for next year.

I'd say Shaq would be a better fit for them, but I honestly don't see him joining Boston

He'd be able to play the same role Wallace did.

06-27-2010, 09:49 PM
That's the youth they were looking for.

I think they need to look to split the MLE on Miller and another center because there is no guarantee Perk will be healthy and won't have a setback or that KG will hold up all year.

I dont want Miller for the MLE.... In fact I dont want Miller at all at 35yo

There goes there great defense

Actually don't knock on Brad because he has a nastyness to his game when he played with the bulls the first time he was actually more of a defensive player then an offensive player. It wasn't till he had to take over for Vlade that he became more of an offensive player. I actually see him putting out a lot of effort if Boston or some other Contender tried getting him.

I think Jermaine Oneal would be the best fit!!!! but this still would be a good move

Yeah. I think it would be a great fit.

That's the youth they were looking for.

They do need youth, but they need to fill Sheed's spot first and foremost. Miller isn't young, but he's better than just about anything else they can get.

Don't want him.

The Last thing Boston needs is an over the hill center that likes to shoot jumpers.

Can't rebound? He'll fit right in in Boston! Get it done Ainge!

Who's a better fit? I think he's a solid pick. He can rebound well enough, he can defend, he's an amazing passer. He wasn't an efficient scorer last year, but in the Celtic's system I think he'd be great.

I think it's slim pickings, unless you guys pull something off via a trade.

Haywood probably can get more than the MLE. Illgauskas and Shaq define over the hill. O'Neal may be a better fit, but he's a glassman. Frye, Haslem, Warrick, Fesenko, Harrington etc. just aren't really great options.

Ty Thomas and Scola both are better, but I think they need a true center, and I don't think either can provide that.

^this - more or less

Rondo punched him in the face, just sayin.
