View Full Version : Mediocre teams...that's their fate !!!

I can name a few teams in this League that for some reasons they just aren't capable to win consistently, be contenders, win a Championship nor merely hang-on to their Star Players...

1. Toronto Raptors
2. Los Angeles Clippers
3. Memphis Grizzlies

These teams keep on rebuilding year in and year out hoping that they might find the diamond in the rough...

However, its SIMPLE KNOWLEDGE...YOU CAN NOT WIN by just trying to develop a player...you need ASSETS and accumulate ASSETS, spend WISELY and attract Superstars !

I commend OKC for their effort the past season, Durant and Westbrook were spectacular.

Lets move the clock forward....when Durant's and Westbrook's contract are up in 2 years...it is hard to predict but we all know what these two players would ask before they re-sign on the dotted line...

they want to win a Championship or they will leave...a mindset that these current 2010 Free Agents have.

Thats why I always commend the Buss family...Celtics Ownership...Spurs(Peter Holt)...Mark Cuban(still trying but Im sure he will get it)...

they want to win now not tomorrow but NOW !

I think the problem for those teams is FO

they just can't put together a contending team.

I think ownership is the problem, more concerned with $ than W's.

Bingo. Reason why the Hawks have sucked for almost a decade before getting this good team, and now the ownership is the reason why this team might go back down.

OKC is such a nice team. Built through hard work and drafting. Great scouts great FO. Take advantage of having high picks in the draft and almost always gets the pick right.
They drafted russel, Durant. All your missing is a couple of bigs to really go places.
Im a fan of your team and front office management. Good luck on the road to Championships Thunder Fans!.

Speaking of OKC how about that trade that landed Jeff Green, Wally S, and Delonte West for Ray Allen contract. That trade got them a solid future forward and West and Wally's contracts got them more picks. Genius

People think OKC turned it around in one year.

They've been building around picks, and haven't made the playoffs since 04' if i'm not mistaken.

Memphis is still too new to put into this category. We all know the Clippers suck. What is your point?

True, it's been a process. Presti has been building the team through the draft for the last 3 years, and he's done a heck of a job. Durant was the only real no brainer, the rest of the guys he drafted were more by what he was feeling, not necessarily who was the most talented or who was the popular choice. He drafted 4 great guys out of college in KD, Russ, Jeff Green, and Harden, and he also found two really good pieces in Sefolosha and Ibaka. Those two are the specialists. Maynor was also a great pickup, he's a great backup PG, and really good enough to start for some other teams. Presti just knows what he's doing, and why shouldn't he? He came from San Antonio, he knows what it takes to win, and what kind of players it takes to have a team with a winning attitude and a "team first" mentality. We're a team that is very much on the rise.

If the Thunder hadnt had the season they did Memphis wouldnt even be in this discussion. They turned it around big time this season and look great going into next season. And the owner has repeatedly said he will match offers to keep Rudy Gay.

And you're missing the Warriors.

I would disagree with your post... I feel every team has a chance to become a good team, it all depends on management tough.

It's all management. They make the decisions whether or not the team is good or bad.

..some managements are horrendous under a lameduck franchise that needs to be sold.
