Eh, MoPete is a terrible player. Very shaky with his handle, isn't the shooter he once was. Takes horrible shots. If the shot doesn't go in, it doesn't hit the rim.

Don't forget about Serge Ibaka either; he is going to be very solid. Mo-Pete probably will hardly play we had to take on that contract to get Aldrich. I wouldn't be surprised if we just bought Peterson out since we just picked up Daequan Cook. Sam Presti is unbelievable but since Pritchard just got fired in Portland hopefully those rumors aren't true and Presti stays and finishes what he started.

I've been watching basketball for about ten years, calm down... I didn't say best ever. Plus, as far as starting lineup of players under 25 go, that is pretty good...

#1 Mo Pete won't start, #2 they run a half court game, they are actually a fairly slow paced team.

This gives them added depth on perimeter shooting along with Cook, and now they have a solid defensive big man down low who can contribute immediately.

Fantastic move by the Thunder.

Presti did the right things once again. I know a lot of our fans wanted to go a different way, but we need a true center and Aldrich is top notch. He can come in and contribute, maybe he and Mullens will really push each other becuz I think Presti is still pretty high on Mullens. Either way, we're gonna be in better shape when we replace Krstic. And I'm also hoping we'll keep Daequan Cook around, he'll find his shot again and be very deadly.

Great deal

I'm anti-white players but Aldrich is a nice fit in OKC where he'll be what, the fourth option?

Don't sleep on Mo-Pete either, good defensive player can score a bit, expiring I believe. Good piece to add whether or not OKC decides to keep him.

Presti is a god.

I dont know, but it may seem like Paul's time in NO will be short and will be traded. OKC is making moves right now and they are a MLE away from getting a key vet to make a title run.

Corey

This team is so scary out of the west. They can play half court, they can play fast break, they have a handful of good iso players, they can play good pick and roll.

They now have the defensive center they desperately needed, and toss Peterson in there as another veteran scorer off the bench. This team is sick.

Keep Sefolosha in the starting lineup as your wing defender, with Harden and Mo Pete off the bench with Ibaka and Maynor? Oh man.

DE9394
06-25-2010, 11:58 AM
The thunder needed a defensive stopper downlow, a young presence. They got em. Great move by thunder, if ibaka turns out to be a good big man to next year there going to e nasty. Still think they need to sign someone like boozer, amare, bosh to be the best team in the lg tho

I am half kidding about that statement but I really think Brackins has a chance to be a solid pro in this league. There aren't many big guys who can run the floor and shoot the 3 like he can.

I absolutely despise ISU (I'm a Hawkeye) so I never would watch a game. I just really liked Aldrich and felt like he would be perfect for the team if they weren't able to get George.

Alot of conflicting opinions on Aldrich. I know he's not the upside pick, he probably will never be very good offensive player, he'll may never be 20 and 10 but he may be 10 and 10 for a long time.

how? its the total opposite. hes not a player that was pikced of potential. therefore he doesnt have much bust potential. hes not expected to do more then be a kendrick perkins type player. just rebounder, defend, be a presnce inside

I love how an analyst will call a player a potential bust and everyone else just buys into it because they don't want to do there own homework. I have been saying for the last 15 hours that Cole Aldrich couldn't have gone to a better situation for him to thrive. If he went to any other team including my Celtics I don't think he would do very well. Kevin Durant and his brothers have done an exceptional job bringing a family vibe to that whole team. I see Kevin and co. winning many championships

Run&Gun
06-25-2010, 09:47 PM
I don't know if anyone noticed how perfect this trade was for OKC,
They get Aldrich who gives them exactly what they need, personally I don't think they have to worry about him providing offense, OKC really just needs a rebounder, defender and someone who can finish around the rim. Don't need to worry about fast breaks because the other Durant, Westbrook, Harden and Green are all pretty fast for their position, so if Aldrich can learn to outlet pass they're set.

Also not sure if anyone noticed Mo Pete's contract, even though he gets paid 6 million it doesn't matter since his contract expires next year which is when they need salary cap for Green and Durant which is perfect for them. Plus they get another shooter, so they get a win win situation from pretty much every standpoint, unless they wanted to sign a big name free agent which doesn't seem the case for this team.

Mell413
06-25-2010, 09:51 PM
Great move for the Thunder. They needed a defender and a rebounder and I think they got that in Aldrich. Aldrich and Ibaka can make for a good defensive tandem. Thunder could win a playoff series next year IMHO. Presti with another solid move IMHO.

The Jokemaker
06-25-2010, 10:48 PM
I agree with everyone else, great pickup. Got a young big man who will give them just what they need: rebounding with somewhat of a post presence. On that team he won't be expected to score, just hussle plays and some put backs and easy dunks. And Mo Pete is a nice veteran presence for a young squad that can give you solid minutes.
