Maybe he will rest a while and pull a PJ Brown and sign back with us after the all star break, just for a playoff run.

He leaves us with the mystery of whether he was going to the refs locker room after Game 7 to berate them, or to say goodbye as it was his last game.

I wonder if they could have given him a technical after the game is over, in their own locker room? One more for old times sake would have been a nice send off.

Damn hate to see em leave, great player. I think he never reached his full potential. If he would of had that determination guys like KG, Duncan, and Shaq had he could of been a consistent All Star IMO

It is a shame to see the original Lamar Odom leave the NBA still with so much wasted and untapped potential. I'll miss those techs and interviews though

I hate the guy who encouraged him to leave and board the team bus. We will never ever know what was about to happen.

Sounds like its official, thats really too bad. You either hate him or you love him, but he had a great career.

Childish, moody, half tapped. Glad he is gone so the Celts have more room to build the next team sooner. Good riddance. A decent playoff run does not expunge that season he had. Garbage.

I could see this happening, but not with Boston.

Really? I'd take a good playoff performance over a good regular season performance.

Can't put a price on performing well in clutch playoff moments.

BALL DON'T LIE!

Hated him when he was on the Pistons, because they killed the Magic. His last game was a good performance with a clutch 3 at the end.

it's like the man died. he's retiring. he's been great to the game in the intensity perspective. a winner and technical beast. that being said, i'll miss the antics and anticipation of a record of technicals in a game. good luck to rasheed and whatever he does.

Really? I'd take a good playoff performance over a good regular season performance.

How about both? The man has no pride, no sense of the importance of his job given the money he was paid, and what he was asked to do. He took way too many 3's, and didn't use his inside game hardly at all.

I said he was good in the playoffs - not great - probably met expectations in about 2/3 of the games - given what came before that was good.

He still sucks. On the all time top 20 suck list of wasted talent.

Sheed was a great player. He could have been a lot better if he put his mind to it, but you can say that about a lot of players. I always enjoyed his antics.

This is a gift to the Celtics.

Good bye Sheed's terrible contract. Two more years of him would have be atrocious.

Sheed was wasted talent? Is this a joke? Yes, he was with the Celtics because you Celtic fans had such high expectations for him but lets be real, Sheed was awesome for the Taril Blazers and the Pistons, maybe even more so with the Trail Blazers. He was the reason the Blazers and the Lakers had such a rivalry in the playoffs. The guy was an exciting young player who may have helped bring the Jail Blazers their nasty reputation but for awhile, he brought that team success and he continued that when he went to the Pistons.

Wasted talent? The guy won wherever he went. That says something. Stop being bitter Celtics fans. Just because he didnt live up to the hype for your team doesnt mean he wasnt good his entire career. Give me a break.

Refs are gonna be sad as hell. Who are they gonna give the technicals now?

I loved him as a player. A complete team guy in terms of his game.

I'll miss him. He was one skilled player on both ends. And even though people continue to mock his temperament, he is one of the most unselfish players in the league.
