Might as well get a thread for this rumor out and running since it's a potential blockbuster.

Pacers and Nets discussing trade to send package including Danny Granger and 10th pick for Devin Harris, Yi and No. 3 pick, sources tell Y!

The Pacers would trade up to third spot to draft Derrick Favors. No deal imminent, and source says Nets interest is "lukewarm" on it.

Adrian Wajnarowski's reports have been pretty spot on thus far, so this is definitely something that is legitimately being discussed. Have at it:

Indiana would be winning this one big time. Yi and Harris are two young guys and getting the 3rd pick to draft Favors/Cousins would be amazing. People are down on Yi, but he could still develop into a good/solid role player or starter.

Pacers wanted a PG, and now they got one. Along with the # 3 overall and ... Yi

Nets get Granger who is scoring machine and still have the #10 overall pick

Honestly ... it's a equal trade and a great trade for both teams.

I thought we all fully understood New Jersey wasn't going to get LeBron.:eyebrow:

Great move by New Jersey if true. Indiana is getting screwed.

What a way to try to keep your fanbase supporting you and trying to attract a new owner by trading away your Franchise player.

New Jersey wins this.

Still VERY high value at #10, Yi is never going to be a starter on a playoff team, and Granger is much more valuable than Devin Harris.

I'm really low on Harris, he's a scorer that plays point guard. Granger is an absolute stud, that's a borderline superstar if he played somewhere else. Pretty comparable to Joe Johnson, actually.

This move alone should draw interest for a big FA to come to New Jersey.

But anything can happen.

Not sure what this means for the Pacers though, trading their franchise player who is fairly young.

Not gonna happen.

That's a bit too much for Granger.
The Nets would need a starting Point Guard (w/ the 10th pick, they'd be taking whoever they chose too high) and they also need a starting PF and a SG.

Do they have enough to get this in FA?

I dont think the trade is as great as everyone says it is. Its good for the Pacers because they need a PG, they get some size with Yi and get the #3 to draft Favours. The nets get a semi-star and what? Who will be there at 10?

^ Seems fairly comparable to me. Now, would you trade a pick 7 spots higher, plus your starting point guard, plus, (well, nevermind, I won't pretend anyone cares about Yi) for a decent SF and a #10 pick? Regardless, the Nets can pick up a very similar player in FA, and lose neither a top 3 pick nor their starting point. Are you ****ing kidding me?! I'm a fan of Danny Granger, even, and if necessary I can get one of my guys here on PSD to validate what I'm saying, but ****, man, this is a terrible deal for the Nets. Sorry, but you are all out of your minds on this one. I'm with the Nets FO; lukewarm, at best.

Danny Granger is one of the most overated players in basketball.
He's a good scorer,but needs a lot of shots,not a winner in any way.
No way I do this for the 3rd pick, and Harris.
I think Harris is just as good as Granger,so why give up the 3rd pick.

Who would play point for the Nets?

wmudford
06-24-2010, 06:52 PM
I actually think this should improve nj's chances at Lebron because he could look at Granger as a Pippen type side kick and Lopez as a less wealthy man's (can't say poor) Duncan.
