That would take a huge hit in FA class next year.

Yep which is why I think teams need to strike gold now.

Of course, he avoids a new [and prospectively worse] CBA agreement by signing an extension now.

As expected

I mean yeah i dont really see how anybody could be surprised by this. Remember when Bosh, James and Wade signed short 3 year extensions Melo was the lone member of top 5's to go with the longer extension.

That's why i always said there was ZERO chance of him being a free agent and going to the Knicks next summer like every other FA is supposed to go this year.

lol... about 8 years younger, 5 more assists a game. CP is the best PG in the game.

Is this a serious statement? But the Nuggets have NOTHING to give anybody in a deal. Ty Lawson is the only guy that has value outside of Melo.

Good, I always like guys to stay with the teams that drafted them.

At least we know he stays loyal unlike other stars.

I believe they have K-marts big expiring too. They could use it to take on Okafor and Posey to give Hornets more Cap Space and they will be under the Cap. But other then that Melo and Lawson is the best chips...maybe some team that needs a hustle guy would like Birdman.

Just as expected really, I don't think there was any doubt he would leave Denver.

i respect melo for staying with the team that drafted him. they need someone in the post that can help Nene...and maybe a more solid starter at shooting guard

Good news, Hopefully the FO will get it done quick. I don't want to feel what the Cavs fans are feeling.

He about to crush alot of peoples pipedreams!

Its a good look though. I llke what Melo said about not needing to go around and have teams recruit him because he already went through that in college. His team has been loyal to him and he's returning the favor.

Good job Melo!!!
