I'd love you to elaborate on this

oh nevermind read it. I guess New Jersey is a viable option for Boozer since money is no object

I think Boozer would work well in NJ.

I was hoping for a combination of defense and rebounding at the PF spot.

haha Nets fans. I was going to say, pretty sure every Nets fan would prefer Favors and not signing Boozer

I hope NJ picks for need and not for hope. Why would a player for the same agent help in getting a player who has no affiliation with him? Are Johnson and Boozer related or friends?
I'm willing to bet Boozer would even rather NJ pick a player they NEED first.

Drafting Favors and going after JJ would be a better option

This is the only way I could accept their reasoning for not drafting Favors. I wouldn't trust Boozer too much; he told Cleveland he was coming back in 2004. I think drafting Favors is a safer pick in my opinion.

arkanian215

Like who?

Favors. He brings a combination of defense and rebounding that none of the FA PF's have.

Boozer takes the ball away from Lopez. They need more of a defensive player at the 4 like a Tyrus Thomas or something. That Boozer thing is the same reason why I think they'll take Johnson over Favours because it'll be the same problem.

he was drafted by the Cavs. Played with LeBron his rookie season. Look at the picture below. We all tend to forget things at times

Al Jeff is a great player, but he doesn't seem to be working under Rambis' system as well as his first two previous seasons in Minn. If Minn gets Favors and keeps him (you never know with Kahn), I think they could move Jefferson; it will definitely help him; he has superstar potential just has to be on the right team.

I like Al Jefferson, I just think he needs more motivation and to improve defense, His Footwork is insane for a big guy.

Favors. He brings a combination of defense and rebounding that none of the FA PF's have.

That would be my pick too, I thought you were talking about a FA

Favors potential > Boozer

I'm not a fan of Wesley's potential, hes just a shooter at the age of 23. A Lopez/Favors post will be one good one for the future. I don't like this trade idea for them, Boozer is just a pick-and-roll player who can't defend or do anything with tall guys around him.

Also it ain't all about Boozer's defense. It's ok but those knees scare me.

Until then here you go:

Increasingly loud hints that the New Jersey Nets intend to select Syracuse small forward Wesley Johnson with the third overall pick were initially dismissed as a potential smokescreen New Jersey orchestrated to convince Minnesota -- which likes Johnson at No. 4 -- to surrender an asset to the Nets for the right to trade up to No. 3.

Not so any longer.

A new theory circulating pegs Johnson as one of the first dominos in the free-agent frenzy that will officially commence July 1.

Multiple teams have passed along their belief to ESPN.com that the Nets have serious interest in Johnson at No. 3 largely because they believe it will help them land Utah’s Carlos Boozer in free agency.

New Jersey’s main position of emphasis once the free-agent market opens July 1 is power forward, with the Nets possessing an estimated $27 million in salary-cap space and with Brook Lopez and Devin Harris entrenched at center and point guard.

The connection between Johnson and Boozer? They're both represented by the same agent: Rob Pelinka.

The selection of Johnson would be a strong tip-off, sources say, that New Jersey will be chasing Boozer hardest when free agency commences, ahead of potential targets such as Phoenix’s Amare Stoudemire.

ESPN.com's Chad Ford indeed has New Jersey selecting Johnson with the third overall pick in his latest mock draft.

One source close to the situation, however, insisted Wednesday that Boozer has strong interest in the Nets independent of where Johnson lands in the draft.

Was it? I assumed it was the knees like most big men. I'll do some fact checking next time first.

Nets should not sign an old FA, they need to keep building with youth.

imagine if the Nets want Wesley Johnson bc of the Boozer thing, and then PHI selects Favours. Will they go Johnson+Boozer, or Evan Turner?

Me and tcman in the Wolves forum have been saying for awhile that we honestly think Turner has a good chance at falling to #4. I know Philly fans think this is 0% chance of happening but Rubio falling to #5 was far fetched too last year.

Im sorry but as a Celtic fan Boozer to the Nets would make them a really tough defensive team. Harris, Boozer, Lopez would be a nice 3 to work with. Add in Johnson who i think is a guy who could be a top 3 player in this draft and thats not a bad nucleus. Maybe they sign a guy like Joe Johnson or Rudy Gay as well.

Harris
W.Johnson
Gay?J.Johnson?Yi?
Boozer
Lopez

That team is winning more than last year for sure.
