I'd say 2 years for 5 million dollars. He's clearly just a guy at this point. I believe he is the single most reason that the Celtics lost the championship.

2-3yr deal but a lot more money than you guys think.
I say 10-12 mil per. You all can take that to the bank.

He actually had a really good regular season and playoffs until the Finals.

How short memories are...

He deserves about 9-10 for 2 years with a team option.

He'll take full MLE for two years from the C's.

Just my opinion, don't flame me.

He would be a perfect fit for the Bulls once they sign a big like Bosh

really? cause he won them game two at la and played great defense on kobe through out the series and the reason i would say the celtics lost is because they werent getting enough rebounds

In my opinion, Ray Allen has a lot of leverage being a champion now. I don't see him going to a non-contender.

Raptors signed Jason Kapono to that deal a few yrs back, hes 10 times better lol.At least 8mil hes got a ring, hed be great with like a Dwight Howard who gets double'd a lot. open 3's all day

Perfect for the Bulls if they get Bosh or LBJ.

I think Ray Allen would average 20-25 ppg if he went to the Suns though... could you imagine all those 3's?

But still Chicago is best for him.. or the Lakers, haha but that likely won't happen.

Bulls potential lineup:

-Rose
-Allen
-Lebron
-Taj Gibson
-Noah

Not bad at all.

Depending on how free agency goes i can see him getting 6-9 mil fro a team looking foe the final piece. The Nets can use an upgrade at SG and they have too many young guys. Their planning to fill the PF slot thru the draft so getting him would be ideal. His veteran leadership would help them tremendously.

Bulls don't need Lebron. If they got Bosh and Allen they would be the favorites IMO

Ultimately he will get too much money for too long. Just the way it happens with older once star free agents.

He's clearly just a guy at this point. I believe he is the single most reason that the Celtics lost the championship.

I disagree.

He was tasked with having to guard Kobe Bryant for the Finals, while being guarded by the very physical Derek Fisher. He's in great condition, but eventually that combined wear and tear affects a shooter's jumpshot during a long series.

Put Ray Allen on a team...oh, like the Lakers...where he doesn't have to guard the best perimeter player on the opposing team (because Artest has that assignment) and you'll quickly see how dangerous Ray can be. If I thought that he'd be willing to play for the Lakers, I'd pick him up at the MLE in a heartbeat.

I can tell you if Miami strikes out with the big names they would offer Allen 8-10 mil a year...same with NY prob.

yeah i think he'll compliment rose real nice...i think rose;s game is way ahead of rondo...mr rondo gets to much credit when he has a hand full of stars to throw the ball to..so i see why its very easy for himjust to focus on rebounding..the assists just rack up so makes it easier for him to average a trip dub like he has..but i say mr allen sign with the bulls.. thats if he comes real cheap or possible sign an trades at this point nothing is for sure

id love the bucks to give him 1 year contract and over pay a little he deserves it
he deserves the mid-level exception but id pay him 7.5 mil one year

7-8 million max

kblo247
06-19-2010, 11:52 PM
7mil or 8mil

I say that the Bulls should look to talk Ray and Lee into splitting a max deal to fill their needs if they lose out on the Lebron/Bosh sweepstakes.

I'd say 2 years for 5 million dollars. He's clearly just a guy at this point. I believe he is the single most reason that the Celtics lost the championship.

KG rebounding worse than everyone on the court besides Allen and Fisher wasn't a reason?

Pierce getting locked down in every game but really one because Ron didn't fall for his flops wasn't a reason?

Rondo shooting free throws worse than Shaq and Ben Wallace ever have, not being able to hit a jumper, and Kobe keeping him off the glass wasn't?

Every member of that big 4 shares blame for losing that series, not just Ray Allen (I don't even like him).

In theory Ray Allen and Amare would be perfect to play with Lebron more so than Wade(Johnson and Boozer) because of how much he likes to handle the ball.

Hawkeye15
06-20-2010, 01:06 AM
He is Ray Allen. He should, and will probably get 3 years, $24 million, with the 3rd year being a team option.

Max, he should be the main 2010 free agent that all teams are willing to sign. Then LeBron.

I think you guys are low-balling it. Manu Ginobli got a $39 million dollar three year extension in April. That's 13 mil a year. Ray will be 35 at the start of next season, Ginobli will be 33. Ray will command at least 9-10 a year.

JiffyMix88

I highly doubt any team would give a 35 year old Ray Allen a 10 million dollar a year contract. He's the perfect candidate for the MLE in my opinion, on a three year deal, with a team option for year three.

He'll take the MLE from the C's to stay in Boston- he's already made it clear he wants to stay, and Boston has one of the best childrens hospitals in the country for his son. Ray's worth more, but will take less to stay

Ray is only two years older than Manu. Manu just signed a contract worth 13 mil a year. Would Ray being two years older really earn him less than half of what a 33 year old Ginboli got? I dont think so. He's not signing with anyone for the MLE, unless it's the Celtics and they agree to spend that money on someone else who can help the continue to contend.

IndiansFan337
06-20-2010, 10:46 PM
6-9mill/ 3 years

That's what he should get, not what he will get.

He's going to get at least 3 years & probably around $12 million per yr. I think he could even get a 4 year $40-45 million contract.

So many teams have cap space & there's not enough top F/A's to spread out, somany guys are going to get overpaid.

He's only going to go to a contender.

I was thinking the same about PHX too, but they don't have the cap space to sign him.

2 year deal possibly. maybe 3

BleedinGreen23
06-21-2010, 10:27 AM
As a Nuggets fan I would have loved him 2-3 years ago, now Im not so sure...

My Brother is a big cavs fan and I told him he would have been perfect in Cleveland...again 2-3 years ago

I think he's the reason why boston won the championship and if he had more games like game 2 compared to game 3 boston would have won again.

Its the NBA though and he'll get money where ever, but he's a loyal unspoken guy and id say he'll stay in boston.

He's already said he doesn't really want to go anywhere else other than Boston.

PLUS Boston has the Larry Bird rights. He'll stay in Boston.
