View Full Version : Would you want Joakim Noah to play C on your team?

I am curious what the average Non Bulls fan thinks.

Should he play C of PF?

In BOS - no. I love Perk's ability to man up on defense. Noah is a great team defender, but I don't think he's great in man on man post up situations. He would definately help our rebounding, but our defense would take a hit in the process.

I wouldn't want him on my team, personally, because I think he wines too much. But, I think he's a fine Center for the Bulls and that's where he should stay.

Well yes for the Bulls.

Considering his best attributes are defense and rebounding then he should be a C. Most PFs in the NBA have the ability to really score the ball which he can improve but I don't think he'll ever be considered a lethal offensive threat.

Yes, oh my I cannot begin to tell you how much I would want him on the Jazz. Noah + Boozer or Millsap would be such a sick big man tandem. He is everything the Jazz need. Hustle, toughness, length, and attitude.

Absolutely. He's a hard worker and he controls the middle well. Good rebounder, good defender, great competitor. Who wouldn't want him?

I think he needs to play C with a scoring/finesse PF. That's why I see Bosh as a great fit in CHI. They would compliment each other and compensate for the weaknesses of one another.

abe_froman
06-19-2010, 03:58 PM
i think he's asking would you want as a center or power forward, not if you want him period.

see he started a debate in the bulls forum saying we should move him to pf(exactly who takes over at center, who knows)

Whether he's better at center or pf.

i think that its not a question of should he play PF or C, but rather what kind of a player will be playing the other position.. that being said, i think he can play either spo, but would be even more defensively dominant at the 4

Haha, you're a Celtics fan that wouldn't want Noah because he whines? Maybe you just want to get rid of Pierce, Garnett, Rondo, Perkins, Davis, and Wallace while you're at it?

I dont think he can play PF, I know people want to say get a C and play him there, but I just dont think he can. especaily with Derrick rose. IM not going to say that noah has some overpowering offensive game, becasue he doesnt. and there isnt a C in the league that can spread the floor well enough to allow rose to have driving lanes.

IF you have 2 big men who can spread the floor, its very very hard to drive. I dont want that for rose. thats why I would prefer him at C. I know some question his toughness, he isnt a terrible post defender. he is a good shot blocker, and a leader in his own way.

Given that. the dream senario would be Noah At C, with a player like Bosh or Dirk at PF. becasue this would give us the post player we need, while also spreading the floor enough to allow rose to drive. this is why I personaly dont think you can play Noah at PF. all his advantages at C, because nul when he plays PF. HIs athletism to be the main point.

Thats just my opinioin. He isnt suited to play PF. just my opinion.

Exactly what I was going to say...

A player that does everything that he doesn't do well, which can leave him to do what he does best and not be relied on for offense.

I liked Noah a lot at Florida - guess I just like players who are their team leaders. He's definitely talented, cleans the glass and plays defense, offense won't take him to new heights but as that type of hustle player he doesn't really need it.

However... The way that Bulls fans have been cooing about him is absolutely hilarious - most people talk about him like, "C'mon LeBron, who wouldn't want to play with Rose and Noah?!". Seriously, Rose I can understand because he's a stud, but Chitown fans are talking about Noah like he's the second coming of Hakeem.

Naturally every forum's fans will go overboard because of their passion (we've had people saying Gallinari was going to be better than Dirk.. lol) - but overall I think Noah is a nice player and I'd like him on my team b/c of his energy and D, but I don't ever think he will make an All Star team or be that 'Tier-1' caliber of a player.

He's a good center type of player, but he's way to thin and will get pushed around by the bigger players/centers in the NBA (Bynum, Howard, Lopez maybe etc)

heres my point to the whole come play with rose and noah deal...u yourself said u would love him on ur team, most in this thread also said the same thing. hes a great rebound. energy, D type center, not to say hes great at all 3 but a plus in those categories, so why would that not be a seliing point to a player...would lebron not love to have him on his team as well? or is he really that special that he goes against the large general consensus and wants to stay in CLE with ********/older players around him
