According to Laurie from Beyond The Blueshirts, citing Russian reports, Rangers prospect Pavel Valentenko is expected to return to North America for next season.
Valentenko was acquired in the Scott Gomez deal along with Ryan McDonagh and Christopher Higgins.
ÖHe is always forgotten about, Laurie says he has one year left on his contract so that could put him in Hartford.
He isnít ranked as one of the Rangers top 20 Prospects

Amazing how many young guys we have in our pipeline 1-3 years away. Reason to be optimistic. :)

Apparently, from what I've read, his skill level is very high but he has hardly played the past two seasons due to injury. While that is cause for concern, if he is returning to North American hockey, he must feel as if he is behind those injuries and ready to ramp his game back up.

he's a guy who'll block shots, be physical, and be more of the stay at home type.

which is what we need...this allows us to pretty much stay away from the FA market...which makes me happy

Something we could REALLY use!
