GAME 1
1:20 PM Central - CSN

http://i46.tinypic.com/zlci1j.jpg
Scott Kazmir vs. iCarlos

Important Silva Statistics:
Pitches Thrown in 2010: 1108
Number of strikes in 2010: 749
Career Batters Hit-By-Pitch: 42

Carlos “iCarols” Silva (April 23, 1979 to Present) is a Venezuelan born taco vendor who doubles, and by his size, sometimes triples as a dominant right handed pitcher for the Chicago Cubs. On the side, it is widely speculated that between sessions, Silva also dabbles in the art of Lucha libre wrestling. A skill that is believed to be learned from the great Rey Mysterio, Jr., Silva has dominated county fairs throughout the mid-west in an attempt to be crowned in the featherweight division. Although this masked assassin has yet to have his identity revealed, there are rumors circulating that it is clearly Silva behind that mask.

GAME 2
12:05PM Central - WGN

http://i362.photobucket.com/albums/oo63/jallenjr911/TedLillyWantedPoster-1.jpg
Jered Weaver vs. Theodore Roosevelt Lilly III---

Important Lilly Statistics:
Pitches Thrown in 2010: 983
Number of strikes in 2010: 661
Career Batters Hit-By-Pitch: 48

Theodore “Ted” Roosevelt Lilly III (January 4, 1976 to Present) is an American serial killer active between 2007 and 2010. He twice escaped from county jails before his final apprehension by Jim Hendry at the start of the 2007 season. Over the past few years, there is little no physical proof, but lots of vigorous denials on Ted’s part. The mind games continue as he eventually confesses over the PSD forums to over 30 murders, although the actual total of victims remains unknown. Estimates range from 26 to over 100, the general estimate being 35. Typically, Lilly would bludgeon his victims with a maple-ash combo baseball bat, and then would strangle them to death using shreds of his teammate’s old uniforms. It is assumed that the next person on Lilly’s death list is none other than the scrappy journeyman known as Juan “All Juan’s ain’t Mexican” Pierre.

GAME 3
1:20PM Central - WGN

Joe Saunders vs. Big Z--
http://i362.photobucket.com/albums/oo63/jallenjr911/imagesCA006O8A.jpg

Important Zambrano Statistics:
Pitches Thrown in 2010: 902
Number of strikes in 2010: 538
Career Batters Hit-By-Pitch: 84

Carlos Alberto Zambrano (June 1, 1981-Present) is the second of the big boys from Venezuala that helps to honker down the Cubs current rotation. As the wing man for iCarlos, Big Z spends most of his time at the county fairs in the Competitive Eating contests. Once known more for his gut, then his sheer dominance, Big Z took it upon himself to really get into better shape for this season. When asked about the transformation, Carlos responded “No mas quiero Taco Bell”. That is loosely translated into, “Listen *******, I realize I was a fat ****, but lay off.” When times are rough on the mound, Carlos looks to the skies for advice from his hitting guru, pictured above.

Without. A. Doubt. Best. IGT. Ever. Created. In. The. Cubs. PSD. Forum.

BDawk has been clamoring for a promotion for the longest time, and that time is now. I must say that his BP session before the game has been more sterling than any BP session since that of the great Koyie Hill.

The beer guys are ready to sell beer, and the bleacher bums are lining up. Dorothy has dawned her best of Cubs jerseys, and Sergio is right there to caress her wrinkled busam.

Lou has been Grablowed, and the Riot has a super shot of scrap. Hell, even Dome is speaking English now. The hot chicks of the starting lineup are all in the stands, ready to take their clothes off at any given moment, and croce is still on his camera searching the crowd for the hottest whale.

Oh, it's time folks. BDawk has fired up the Big Blue Train. Choo choo mother ****ers, and tweet tweet for my man Marlon Byrd. Turn around starts today.

I'm calling a schweeeppppp.

Yeah because the original way has done what exactly? This place needed some flare. It't ok at times to go away from the norm, get a sense of humor. What is the need to be all up tight?

My prediction, we sweep. Thanks for the help Croce, GTF.

I just want to point out, I made an IGT last year that got deleted and during that series we lost Rammy to the DL. Could it be that with this years debut of the BDawk IGT that we get Rammy back in the series finale?

Sometimes that stars just line up for ya.

I would have to think Fuku's game yesterday bought him some more time. I bet he will be starting in RF tomorrow. If Colvin has a good day today he will get the start in either LF or CF tomorrow.

This team's obvious lack of a leadoff man is the reason Fukudome needs to play. Colvin is definitely not the answer at leadoff.

For me, I thought Sunday night could wind up being the point where this team turned it around. Then they followed that up with the 4 error performance on Tuesday. However, including Sunday's game they are 3-1 since that point, so maybe I'm on to something...

Speaking of high school ball, I need to brag a little. My son is going into the 9th grade for the upcoming year, and was 1 of 3 (8th graders) selected to play on the traveling Summer ball High School team.

Anywho, bragging over. In league the other night, I started him on the mound, he normally plays C and CF and is quite god at both spots but he has been bothering me about pitching since a few weeks ago when he came in relief and got 2 quick outs when we were up 10.

He starts and just mows through the line up for 5 innings. Throws about 65 pitches, 8 k's, 1 walk, 1 hit. Did a really nice job but our league is so god awful and the hitters and umpires will really go out of their way to help the pitcher out.

For the last week he has been **** of the walk, i mean chest out, best pitcher on the planet mentality.

Last night our high school team is losing and they bring him in with the score 10-2. He goes 2/3 inning, 0 walks, 0 k's, 19 hits, 17 runs. They beat the **** out of him. Shelled completely out of his mind. he threw strikes which was great, but they just tee'd off on him. Granted he was facing a lineup of kids going into their senior year as well as kids who just finished, but still.

What was your "out" pitch?

I remember growing up and a buddy showed me how to throw a curve and I went home to show my dad who immediatly put down his glove on the sidewalk and refused to play catch if I ever threw that crap again. At that point he taught me how to throw a knuckleball about 6 different ways.

In high school / college it was either unhittable, or it looked like a launching pad out there. More times then not I had quite a bit of success with it. My best pitch was a knuckleball Dan Quisenberry style, submarine, that I would scoot all tthe way over to the far right of the mound and start the ball behind the hitter. Knee buckling.

My fastball I guess. I didn't really have an out pitch. I threw in the low 80's for my fastball. I mostly tried to throw the ball down and get groundballs.

I threw a curve but it didnt curve that much, but it was enough of a change in speed to work.

I did throw a knuckleball, but I have always had trouble throwing it 60 feet. I can throw it 45-50 pretty easily but 60 was always a stretch.

I could throw a decent 3/4 arm slot two seamer that would ride in on RHB.

QUOTE]

So you have a son that age, yet you are creating game threads with countless pictures of women you obviously fantasize about? I would have guessed (based on the thread you created today) that you would be the one going into the 9th grade.

Weak.

What's weak is not using the quote button correctly. Learn it, live it, love it.

There's really only one thread where we don't have as strict of rules when it comes to posting, and that's the game thread.
You won't see people talking about their favorite show in any other thread in the Cubs forum.
Also, the way the Cubs have been playing the last month, a few of us lost our 'enthusiasm' to make the game threads. They might look basic and easy, but they do take a bit of time. Ask BDawk....his took him the entire day :laugh2:

So my advice is to just avoid this thread when a game isn't on....because there's a good chance the conversation will have nothing to do with the Cubs.

But once the game is on, most of the off topic-ness stops.

With that being said....Go Silva!

I definitely do mind the bunt there.

Why on earth would you want your 3 hitter giving up outs with men on base?

2 on none out with your number 3 hitter who's hitting like .900 in June? I'm sorry but are you kidding me?

Sori's was at least a bunt for a base hit, Byrd's was a sac bunt. Literally inexcusable.

Normally I would be against it, but waiting for the big inning hasn't worked that well for us. The result sucked, but I liked the idea of getting 2 runners into scoring position. I thought the RE might be higher, but I just looked at The Book and I was wrong.

But he's *theoretically* our best hitter. If this is the ninth inning or something maybe do it, at that point you only want/need one or two runs, but bunting there is basically neutering all chance for a big inning. Just because we haven't had many big innings doesn't mean we won't start, unless it causes us to do bush league **** like that.

Goose_Island
06-18-2010, 04:07 PM
How do you let Silva bat and then not send him out there for the 7th? It's a one run game...I don't care if there's nobody on base. One swing of the bat can tie the game!

Jilly Bohnson
06-18-2010, 04:08 PM
So I think he wanted to get a hit. Not sacrifice. Thinking being: If I don't get a hit I move up the runners.

He wasn't running as he did it though. So even if it was a bunt for a hit it was even more awful execution than it was already. It's not only inexcusable from a strategic standpoint, the fact is Marlon isn't even a bunter. The guy has 2 sac bunts the last three years.

Oh nice Bob Howry in a one run game. This day just keeps getting better. If I wasn't hours from seeing Toy Story 3 I'd be in a bad mood right now.
