Game 2 got a 10.9 overnight rating, which will translate to over an 11.

The Boston Celtics' series-tying win earned the highest preliminary rating for Game 2 of an NBA Finals since 2004.

Boston's 103-94 victory Sunday night on ABC drew a 10.9 overnight rating. That's up 10 percent from the 9.9 for last year's Magic-Lakers Game 2.

Ratings measure the percentage of all homes with televisions tuned into a program. Overnight ratings represent the country's largest markets.

Lakers-Celtics certainly brings in the masses.

Game 1 and Game 2 are getting way better ratings then last year. If this series turns into a classic, we could reach 12-13-14 levels.

Still can't beat the NFL draft ratings though.

I'm sure it will be higher for Game 3

Great series so far. Deserves the high ratings on basketball alone. Doesn't hurt to have the big rivalry either.

Just imagine if the players were allowed to hit the floor without a whistle blowing. We might even get some of those football or hockey guys to tune in.

I said 6 games at first but I think this one is going seven now. I have no idea who's going to take it.

I really think there is nothing better than Lakers-Celtics. Maybe if it was the Cavs only because of LeBron but nothing else would get better ratings.

Just a question: How do they track ratings for someone who keeps flipping channels...

Well done Stern! Let's continue set it up where we have Boston and LA every year.

they don't really track everybody. They get a statistical sample and then estimate using that

i wonder why lebron can't do this (go to the finals) if he really wants attention.

So far I actually think this series has been hard to watch, asides maybe from the parts of the 2nd half in game 2.

Honestly the fouls are ruining this game... there is no flow to it at all.

Hopefully the refs stop controlling this series, it's been bad both ways.

Great show of improvement from last year. I could really care less about ratings though, I just want to see some good down to the last sec basketball.
