View Full Version : Predictions for Finals MVP Award?

after a slow start, Kobe has been tearing it up for the Lakers. Gasol has been playing consistent ball. Rondo has made some huge plays for Boston and put up some crazy numbers in last year's post season and this year's post season. Pierce was the MVP last time Boston was in the finals. Allen is the best shooter and Garnett is the defensive heart. And LA has some other players who could come away shining like Odom, Bynum and maybe even Artest. And we all know Fischer has hit some game winners in the past. Which of these players are do you guys all think are going to step up their game and pull in the Finals MVP award. And lets just give love to your pick without hating on the other potential contenders for the award.

If the Lakers win, it'll be Kobe. If the Celtics win, it'll be Rondo.

IMO its Ray Allen for the C's, and Kobe for the Lake Show.

Celtics it will be Rondo. Lakers it will be Kobe. I think Pierce could beat out Rondo if he has a great series though.

Any of Rondo, Allen, Pierce or Garnett can get it for the C's.

For the Lakers it will be Kobe unless Gasol has a fantantic series where he outplays Garnett and Garnett plays like he did against Orlando.

Kobe for the Lakers.

Rondo or Pierce for the Celtics.

The Celtics have had to face each of the arguably top 4 players in the NBA in Wade, Lebron, Dwight, and now Kobe. If they win, that would be incredible, and probably the first time that has happened.

Yup, the Celtics have had to face great individual players. The Lakers have had to face great duo's (Durant & Westbrook, Deron & Boozer, Nash & Amare) ;)

When the Rockets won in 95, they beat the teams with the best four records in the league. That was the first and only time that has ever been done.

Jazz- 60 wins
Suns- 59 wins
Spurs- 62 wins
Magic- 57 wins

Stockon/Malone
Barkley and Co.
Robinson and Co.
Shaq and Penny

That was pretty impressive.

I have a feeling that Kobe will get it should the Lakers win, but I'll be pulling for Gasol to have a great series because he has been a rock for the Lakers this year. Kobe gets a lot of glory, and deservingly, but Gasol's contributions are just as important to the Lakers success and I'm hoping he shines on the big stage.

I will be rooting for the Celtics in this series though, and given the way he has been playing, bruised hip or not, I got a strong feeling that Rondo will really exploit his match-up with Fisher/Fischer/Fishcer/Phisher and post some crazy numbers like he did against the Bulls last year.

Gasol won't get it unless he has a great series over the physicality of the Celtics, which isn't likely.

obvious reasons for kobe and I think if Boston wins KG will have a HUGE impact frustrating PAU

If Kobe keeps playing the way he has been he will get it if LA wins. I can see Pierce winning it again for Boston if they win.

With that said if Kobe keeps playing the way he has been LA will win the series

It's going to be Rondo or Kobe. No one else on the Lakers has a chance. Gasol will be limited by KG and Sheed.

Only person on the Celtics that can win it other than Rondo is Paul Pierce. Pierce will probably do well, but I don't think he will be the best Celtic since Ron Artest will be guarding him.

Regardless of who wins it, I think Rondo will have the best series. He is the only star player who does not have a good defender on him. Gasol has Garnett, Pierce has Artest, Kobe has Allen (Tony), while Rondo has Fisher, who is not quick enough to stop him.

I think Rajon Rondo deserves it because he is... amazing but I think that the lakers are going to win in 7 and Kobe is going to turn it up and be finals M.V.P. Because he is a very good players and good players turn it up during clutch time. And i think that Ron Artest is going to lock down Paul Peirce.

It's the black mamba's time.

I think if its going to be a celtic, probably Rondo or Allen. Pierce will struggle in this series.
