Damn this sucks for him :( get well soon to one of the great people the game has produced

Former NBA player Manute Bol is fighting
acute kidney failure and a potentially fatal skin
disease which he contracted while trying to
help out in his native country of Sudan. Bol was once fined $25,000 for missing two
exhibition games -- because he was in
Washington D.C. for peace talks between
rebel leaders from Sudan. The largest country
in Africa has been torn apart by civil war,
particularly in the western region of Darfur, and is in desperate need of selfless educators
like Manute Bol.

I had the honor of meeting him in an airport one time, tough guy to miss. He was one of the most genuine people I have ever met, talked to me for almost 10 minutes while waiting for a flight. One of the truly great people on this planet.

Although I feel bad for anyone that has conditions this bad, it is terrible that he contracted them while trying to help others. It was actually suprising that nothing happened earlier because of his tallness and diseases he might of already had but hopefully he will make it.

Much like another African born center (Mutombo), Bol has been one of few real good guys associated with the game. Even his own country treating him like **** hasn't changed that. Hope he gets better, the world is a better place with him in it, and sadly despite the fact that there's not a lot of athletes you can say that about, people don't know it.

Kidney Failure, and contacting a fetal skin disease?
What did he do do deserve this?

No good deed goes unpunished.

Or at least, it seems that way sometimes when you see a story like his.

Really puts into perspective what athletes should be doing with the tens of millions of dollars they make instead of buying Bentleys and Rolex watches.

He is a good guy i met him 1 time after a 76er's game. His wife is like 4 feet tall lol.
The guy stood around and gave autographs for like 2 hr's after the game. He was very humble and nice. I only hope the best for him.

See how much your job cares if you miss work for two days for a good cause.

Welcome to the USA.

Hope he gets better.

Working in the NBA isn't exactly like being a clerk at Costco. It ain't just a jobby job.
