The suns are good but they need one more person to make them a better playoff team every year.....Who should they sign this year?

They won't have money to sign anyone beyond midlevel if Amar'e returns.
If he doesn't, then it's a moot point anyway.
If he doesn't come back, I'd like to see Kerr go after David Lee or Tyrus Thomas.

The Suns have limited options..

They need to sign 5 years off of age of Steve Nash and like 3 or 4 ankle surgerys off grant Hill and they would be awesome. Even if Amare comes back two of there key guys will be a year older still without a deffensive identity.

They will develope Earl Clark and have an Lopez, Amare and Clark frontline. They won't miss a 37 year old Grant Hill....that much. If the Suns resign Amare, they are only getting better. They could trade LB for cap space, let Frye go and get someone, but the only need to develpe Clark.

Lopez 7'0
Amare 6'10
Clark 6'10

The biggest AND most athletic frontcourt in the league. Put Oden, LMA and Batum out there if you want. They already destroyed Gasol and Bynum without Clark last nite.

^ Amare would still be a putid defender and I'm not sure about Clark's defense (have'nt seen him at all).

I say we try and do this if amare walks.

Trade jason richardson, and leandro barbosa to free up cap space.

Sign Dirk nowitzki and Ray allen(For the Dallas and Boston fans this is just wishful thinking so don't get your panties in a bunch).

There you go back to being championship contenders.

Pg.Nash/Dragic
Sg.Allen/Dudley
Sf.Hill/Clark
Pf.Nowitzki/Amundson
C.Lopez/Frye

They dont jus need one person.. they need their players to be committed to defense and grabbing rebounds.. if the players on the sun were committed to playing defense and rebounding the ball I guarantee you they would be a completely diff team and the series against the lakers wud not be so easy for the lakers

With this dream lineup, you still have the defensive problem.

They should trade us their first rounder and robin lopez for rip hamilton and our 2010 and 2011 2nd rounder.

A lot of teams are turned off by hamiltons age being 32. But he is one of the top conditioned athletes in the league and has said he will play well into his late 30s.

Could you imagine a back court of nash and rip?

So we give up our promising center and our first (Which we don't even possess) for a 32 year old Rip and a couple of guys who won't even sniff the court. I'm quite alright.

They need some of their current players to play better, like Barbosa.

They can use mat barnes again. id trade richardson for someone more consistant. If i were them Id trade richardson and hill to get joe johnson back, and then go and try to sign mat barns. barns can replace hill on the defensive end, and joe johnson was great playing with nash and amare so theres no risks there.

and arent barnes and johnson free agents this year ? both familiar with amare and nash already as they have played on the suns before.

If Amar'e stays, it's very likely that Lou Amundson will be the odd man out. When he goes, Earl Clark will be the new backup PF. Him growing along Lopez, Dudley, and Dragic's improvements that should come with time will allow this team to keep contending while balancing the age.

Im pretty confident that the next generation of phx suns basketball will be just as good, if not better then this one. especially if we resign Amare Stoudemire.

With a 6'4" point guard that plays good defense in Goran Draigc and a front court of Earl Clark, Amare, and Robin Lopez, we will be a great defensive team. I know alot of you havent seen earl clark play yet, but he could guard all 5 positions very very very well. Hes going to be an elite defender who can guard perimeter players even at 6'10". the perfect guy to guard the likes of lebron and kevin durant, while hes also very offensively versatile and handles the ball unlike many people at his height. IMO Earl Clark is a more athletic Lamar Odom

I'm not quite sure what they need. Having a fully healthy Robin Lopez would certainly help.

Suns need an upgrade at SF. Grant Hill has played well, but he is getting old and has limited offense these days. I like Rudy Gay on the Suns, however, if Earl Clark develops well they would be set.
