Teddy Lilly (http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/team/player.jsp?player_id=150404) vs Colby Lewis (http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/team/player.jsp?player_id=407890)

31.0.......IP.......51.1
1-3......W-L.......3-2
4.65......ERA......3.68
17........K's.........54
7........BB's........21

Cubs: Lilly did not get a win in his last game, which was his 100th start for the Cubs, but he did notch another quality start. The lefty gave up three runs on six hits over seven innings against the Pirates. He's now gone at least seven innings in back to back starts for the first time since last Sept. 18-30. He's made 12 starts against the Rangers in his career and is 4-4 with a 3.63 ERA. The last time was June 21, 2007, when he did not get a decision in a 6-5 loss in Texas. In that game, Lilly gave up five runs on six hits, including two homers, over seven innings.
Rangers: Lewis went 3-0 with a 3.80 ERA in his first four starts but is 0-2 with a 3.58 ERA in his past four starts. He lost, 5-2, against the Blue Jays on Sunday, allowing five runs in 5 2/3 innings. He gave up three hits and walked four. He has walked 21 batters in 51 innings. He walked 19 in 176 innings in Japan last year. Opponents are hitting .132 off him with runners in scoring position. Lewis has never faced the Cubs.

Randy Wells (http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/team/player.jsp?player_id=448694) vs Derek Holland (http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/team/player.jsp?player_id=502706)

48.0.......IP.......11.1
3-2......W-L.......2-0
4.13......ERA.....2.38
39.........K's.........10
10.......BB's.......3

Cubs: Wells did not get a decision in his last start but should've gotten a "W." He gave up one run on seven hits over 6 2/3 innings against the Rockies. It was his fifth quality start. He now has given up one or no runs in three of his eight games. He did throw 116 pitches, which was a career high. It'll be interesting to see if that has an effect on him. Wells is 2-0 with a 2.75 ERA in three starts against the NL West. This will be his first start against an AL West team.
Rangers: Holland went 5 1/3 innings, giving up just three runs on five hits with two walks and three strikeouts in a 4-3 victory over the Angels on Monday. Since being recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City, Holland has won both of his starts. He didn't give up a run until the fifth inning against the Halos, running his season-opening scoreless innings streak to 10. He pitched six innings and struck out seven in his first start of the season, a 10-1 victory over Oakland. This will be his first career start against the Cubs.

Carlos Silva (http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/team/player.jsp?player_id=400067) vs C.J. Wilson (http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/team/player.jsp?player_id=450351)

48.1.......IP.......53.0
5-0......W-L.......3-1
3.35......ERA.....2.55
30.........K's.........39
10.......BB's.......19

Cubs: After going 5-18 with a 6.81 ERA in two frightful seasons for the Seattle Mariners, Silva is 5-0 with the Cubs. Silva also won his first five decisions in 2004. He became the first Cub to start 5-0 since Greg Maddux in 2006 and the first starter to begin his Chicago career with five wins since Mark Clark in 1997.
Rangers: Wilson pitched just 4 1/3 innings against the Angels on Tuesday, giving up seven runs on seven hits with five strikeouts. In his shortest outing of the season, Wilson saw his homerless innings streak stop at 87 2/3 as Torii Hunter's two-run home run to left field was the first he had given up since July 9, 2009, to Franklin Gutierrez of Seattle. Despite that, the Rangers still won for the sixth straight game started by Wilson. This will be Wilson's first career start against the Cubs. He's 0-0 with a 0.00 ERA and three strikeouts against Chicago.

Thanks for reminding me about the DH...I absolutely HATE that position.

Either have it in both leagues or none. So dumb how only half the teams use it and the other half obviously doesn't

I'll take that 1.012 OPS in the 6th spot any day of the week from Soriano.

Only problem with these guys hitting so low in the lineup is the struggles with the 3-5 spot in the order (mainly 3-4 to be more specific). If Lee and Ramirez could get it going that lineup would be nasty, especially with Soriano and Soto lower in the order and racking from those spots as they have done so far.

These 1-run losses will bite them in the arse at the end of the season. I don't know anyone more inconsistent. After a 4-game winning streak back they go to their non-clutch hitting ways. No excuse. That 4th inning pretty much says it all about the Cubbies. How many quality starts have they lost for their starting pitching? Dempster, Lilly & Gorzelanny all have lost 4 games already. Sad! It's not their fault! Cubs simply suck! They're getting swept. Hello 7 games under .500 again.

Why wouldn't you care about Colvin? The way this team has been playing its pretty important to find out if his new found discipline is real or not. The guys hit whenever hes been given the chance, and if we decide to rebuild you have to know if hes a bench player or a guy you can count on to start.

Send him down to AAA or give him playing time, but this way you're just ruining him and his value.

God i hope we keep on losing so Lou gets his *** canned. Hes been horrible all year long.

.694 OPS.

best to put players in a position to be successful, but i am sure that will be met with a different opinion on here.

can't play all the players on the roster...I personally am glad nady is out there with his .800+ career OPS...cubs could use all the help and "advantages" they can with the offense struggles.

Can't play the fence with trying to win now AND trying to bring along multiple rookies along. That plan doesn't work out very well most of the time unless you are talking about the elite of the elite rookies.

anyway...I figured this team was out to try and win now being only 5 back in May and making radical moves to improve the current mess. I would have to agree though, be nice to get young guys back in AAA and getting regular AB's if they are going with the win now approach.
