Great almost dunk for Shannon Brown that would have gone down as a classic. Missed dunks don't get much recognition but this one is pretty darn good.

It was an amazing, I am surprised that he actually got a piece of the rim because he jumped way to early.

He couldn't have at least tried that during the contest? Was he nursing an injury or something during the contest? Is that why he was holding back?

I actually think Vince had one that back rimmed out when he was at UNC back in 1998. Does anyone remember this?

Edit:

I think this is the one I was thinking of:

Got to make the shot for it to be impressive. Just like Kobe breaking Grant's ankles wasn't that impressive.

Missed dunks don't get recognition because they're just that - misses. He didn't have what it takes to finish the dunk, so "would it have been a great dunk"? Well yeah, if he had even more athletic ability and was physically capable of doing it, it would have been awesome. But instead it goes down as a missed fg. -shrug

J Rich missed that dunk that could've won that game this year. Good thing that didn't happen in the playoffs.

Yeah I don't know about 3 but definitely top 10.

You got Vince Carter on the 7footer in the olympics, the Dr. J dunk, Mike from the ft. line. and a few others, but most def top 10!

Would have been sick as hell if it went in.

Used to hang out with Shannon Browns brother quite a bit, hoping he comes back to the bulls one day.

as a raptor fan, I'm used to seeing impressive dunks being completed on someone [thanks vince], so I wouldn't be able to tell you off hand if it's the best missed on or not. But it's a pretty bad@zz attempt. Besides, kobe's face in that last still is pretty priceless.

if we are counting dunk contest
j-richs 360 between the legs dunk was by far the tightest

I like that you have Gerald Wallace props in your profile, probably the biggest offender in this year's "dunk contest."

But I agree, I have the biggest strikeout that would've been the longest home run ever award, and I'm only half proud about it.

This thread isnt about Wallace, even though he was bad this year in the dunk contest ( Brown wasnt good either). And the props i'm giving him is for his defensive abilities.

This one woulda been a charge if Richardson was smart enough to take the fall instead of stand and let Brown move his body.

I don't get how it was a foul on J-rich

Most charges are called when the defender is knocked down. Rich was moving his feet, he even nudged to the side.

Wow, alot of you are idiots.....

The jump in itself was impressive. If it wasn't a Laker you wouldn't try ******** all over it either. Thread worthy? Maybe not, but still, impressive.
