The Cavs will win. I guarantee very little, but I guarantee that. You can all make fun of me if I'm wrong. I just can't envision them losing.

^I'd have to agree with that. I really do not see them losing this game, but this is the most excited I've been to see a game this series. The Eastern Conference playoffs is starting to take its shape and become pretty damn interesting (between this and the ECF).

Rondo isn't looking to toast Parker yet. Odd. I would think he'd be attacking right out of the gate.

I guess they're really trying to get The Truth going.

im guessing lebron won't guard rondo until rondo goes off or no?

Probably. Why change your game plan if you don't need to. It looks like Pierce is the focal point so far tonight, so keep LeBron on him.

Rondo isn't being as aggressive tonight.

JNA17

I think Rondo is playing possum.

Perk and KG need to get Shaq into early foul trouble to open up the lanes for Rondo and Pierce to drive in, and for KG and Perk to have easier shots nearer to the basket.

big z is finally coming in, where in the world was he when the cavs needed him!?

ManRam

Kind of surprising they waited this long to try out Z. But then again, it might now backfire.

IndiansFan337
05-11-2010, 08:25 PM
It's interesting to see Mike Brown using Z in this spot after he recorded DNP's in the past 3 games.

ManRam
05-11-2010, 08:26 PM
These one shot quarters, no matter how well he's passing or how well the others are doing, isn't going to cut it for Cleveland.

Z hits his first shot! Yay!

But not at for the sake of Rondo. He's been incredibly passive. Not a good coaching decision IMO.

How's that bad?

LBJ doesn't look to score early in most games. He routinely has 4-7 assists in qtr 1 & then still gets his 25-30 pts before the game is over.

ManRam
05-11-2010, 08:36 PM
Odd quarter. Again, I get the desire to get Pierce going, but I think it is stagnating their offense. When Rondo is the guy, there is no stagnation. I think they gotta give the ball back to Rondo, and let him go.

He was the most passive I've seen from him in a long time in games 1 and 3. What was the outcome of those games? He's gotta assert himself. They really are better when he does.

IndiansFan337
05-11-2010, 08:38 PM
I love seeing Rondo as the one taking the last second shot.

He's probably the last guy on the team you want to get the ball with 3 sec left in the qtr.

He has 4 assists. How is that not assertive? Early in Qtr1 we typically run a lot of plays for Shaq. So it's not all isolation with LBJ.

The way he lost his balance made it look like he was fouled or that they may have collided. The replay clearly showed that he was blocked cleanly though.

It's not so much what he did with how he did it lol. I can't believe im saying that quarter was bad, because for most of the league thats a good one, Im just saying he wasnt being "loud" during that quarter

Pretty much think about it like this, he needs to be a giant black hole for the celtics focus, yet he just has been playing laid back.

I still think it's good for the cavs that they have the lead, I just think it would be better if LBJ went Hulk Smash early

I know. If they didn't call it, it would have been just too embarassing for Big Baby. Certainly wasn't even close to a foul, the refs just had pity for him.

We are at our best when we get out & run.

Varejao's doing well on the glass, but Z looks kinda lost. He's not boxing out on the defensive glass. We need to get every one of those balls, especially if we want to get out & run.

You could say this about any player on any team :laugh2:

You always want everybody to be playing their best ball, but it doesn't always happen that way.

A lead is a lead, just as a win is a win. I don't care if LBJ scores a point in this game as long as we win.

Rondo and LBJ have a combined 0 made FGs. After all the talk we did about those two.

Some 1st half observations:

1.) Z is still a bit rusty, expecially on D.
2.) Refs have been what they have been all series - streaky. They go through stretches of apperaring to be fixing the game one way, and then switch over to the other team - needs to stop.
3.) Ray is a great shooter (duh) - that last 3 was one of the best shots I've seen in a while.
4.) Pierce is back.
5.) KG might have played his best offensive half as a Celtic.
6.) Some Cavs players seemed to shy away from the moment half way through the 2nd quarter. Celts definately apperared to be more ready for the magnitude of this game. CLE seemed to right the ship in the last 4 minutes of the half though.

I picked CLE at the start of the series, but BOS has really impressed me so far (not just in this game - the series as a whole).

That, and he's an inferior defender compared to Tony Allen, and has very little offensive ability. Daniels basically was rendered completely useless once the team found itself a shooter off the bench (Finley).

Exactly. Thats the difference between Gasol and Jamison. Gasol can step up when the team needs him too and when Kobe struggles, when Lebron struggles the whole team struggles, nobody picks up the slack or generates some offense and they just end up collapsing (as you can see right now).

With Bosh he can have that guy that can pick up the slack and something that he hasn't had his whole career and thats a legit 2 option. Thats why them getting Amare would have been big instead they got Jamison who has performed below expectations. I was expecting him to be Lebron's "Gasol", but that hasn't exactly been the case.

Amare is consistent, but way easier to shut down than Bosh. Hard to guard Bosh one on one. But I agree with u; Jamison has not been that guy, where he can win games when Lebron is slumping.
