really hard to tell. you can make cases for alot of players. but if you go by the true meaning of mvp. a player who leads his team to victories and the player who the team relies on, its gotta be between kobe and lebron right now.

Rondo, Kobe, Bron, and Dwight have been equally as impressive. You can't pick one over the other with any significant justification. Rondo has really surprised me with his play. Good for the kid.

We know who the MVPs are, but there are a few guys that stepped up:

East
Magic - Nelson and Dwight
Cavs - Lebron and Jamison
Celts - Rayray and Rondo
Hawks - Horford and Crawford

West
Lakers - Kobe and Pau
Suns - J-Rich, Nash and Amare
Spurs - Manu and Duncan
Jazz - D-Will, Boozer and Millsap

Jazz - Kryrlo Fesenko

Seriously though for the Jazz its D. Will, Boozer, and Millsap.

Overall, I'm going with Pau Gasol. He orchestrates the Lakers offense really well when he's on the block, he (along w/ Drew) has been blocking shots and rebounding the hell outta the basketball, and he's contesting almost every shot there is. He gives the Lakers a nature of calmness on the offensive end so far in these playoffs. Keep it up Big Spaniard!

Kobe

He completely orchestrated the offense in the last two games against the Thunder and in the first three games against Utah, he's lit up the scoreboard at a very efficient rate and been the difference between winning or losing close games.

orchestrate ^ lol which one is it laker fans!?!

I think he's saying orchestrate because there have been a lot of instances where Kobe will drive to the middle of the paint or the free throw line and kick it out to Fisher or Artest for a 3-ball.

But I think Pau has been ballin it both offensively and defensively. So I'm going with Pau.

I guess you can say Kobe is more of the orchestrator, but last couple of gms, Pau has been quick at reading the double teams and kicking it out to wide open shooters.

Dude, Kobe has been playing out of his mind since Game 4 in OKC. The majority of Pau's shot have been coming on putbacks and open jumpers set up by Kobe. Kobe is the clear MVP on this team.

Surprised Jameer Nelson's name isn't up on that list. Whatever, it isn't him, as amazing as he's played.. It's definitely got to be Lebron James for the Cavs, Jason Richardson for the Suns, or Deron Williams for the Jazz; In my opinion at least. Kobe's been amazing as well, like he always is, in Playoff time.

Gasol and Bynum are 1 and 2 in Win Shares and PER on the Lakers for the playoffs.

During the critical ball games, Kobe has been impressive as well (See Game 6 against OKC, and Game 3 against the Jazz). He stuggled with his injury during the beginning of the OKC series but has been great since Game 6 of the first round. He's been impressive against the Jazz in terms of shooting over 50pct from the field and avg. 30 a night.

*Kobe 25, 4, 4 and going up (See his numbers and impact against Utah). He's been playing great since Game 6 of the Thunder series.

His true impact in these playoffs started when he took the defensive challenge against Westbrook in Game 5 in LA. Even though he had only 13 pts in that contest, he shut down Russ. Game 6 @ OKC, and all of this series, he's had 30 pt games on efficient shooting.

What the **** is your problem hater! Personally, as a Laker fan, I think Pau has been the Lakers playoff MVP, and personally, the entire playoffs MVP because he's been doing it all offensively and defensively.

If Lakers fans like Kobe as their playoff MVP, then you shouldn't have a problem with it.

And if you don't like it....

What are you talking about, he was great against OKC in Game 6 as I mentioned and that same Jazz team beat the Nuggets in 5 games. Give him some credit, he's stepped up and is playing well. I didn't say he's the MVP of the playoffs, however he's in the discussion as of late. There is no denying he's been playing some really good bball as of the last 5 games or so...

I will go with LeBron James of the Cavs or Jameer Nelson of the Orlando Magic. The two most consistent stellar players in the 1st 2 rds so far. Dwight, due to foul trouble against Charlotte, had trouble getting minutes on the floor and offensive production. If he would have gotten an opportunity to produce more offensively in the Charlotte series, then he would have been my choice.
