Forward LeBron James, Cleveland (122) 610
Forward Kevin Durant, Oklahoma City (107) 579
Center Dwight Howard, Orlando (122) 610
Guard Kobe Bryant, L.A. Lakers (119) 604
Guard Dwyane Wade, Miami (81) 520

WTF? Why would anyone vote for anyone else? I know Rick Kalma, Bill Simmons for sure did not vote Kobe in. And Durant got more votes than Wade?

Personally, I'd slide Rondo in that 3rd team spot for Joe Johnson. He's one of the best defensive players in the league at this point and averaged a virtual double/double with 4+ boards. Out of all the stars on that team, he was their best player. Definitely deserves recognition imo.

Bogut's too Australian, too white and plays in Milwaukee too often for people to recognize him.

I lol'd at only 2 PG's making it (2.5 if you factor in the comboness of Roy and Wade) considering the insane depth at PG

Also I thought the whole he's white and foreign is what makes Nash so popular

I'm sure Kamla voted for Kobe. He's not as big of a Kobe hater as he used to be. If you watch NBA TV, it seems Kamla is one of those analysts whose cleared his misconceptions of the player Kobe Bryant.

Agreed, kind of a snub, but it IS tough to find a spot for him on these teams. In my opinion Pau was the Lakers best player this season (Kobe was the best for the last .4 seconds), and they were the #1 team in the west... tough not to recognize that.

I would only make 3 changes for all three teams
1- Tim Duncan goes to Center on the 2nd team moving Stoudemire to 3rd team Forward (Tim is not a forward and Stoudemire is not a center)
2- Replace Roy with Rondo on third team (Durability- Roy didnt even play 70 games this season, and Rondo was clearly the leader on his team this year)
3- Chris Bosh on the third team taking Gasol's place (Gasol is great but i feel every players on all 3 teams should be capable of carrying the whole team on their back if needed to, Gasol is more of a sidekick and Bosh have better stats)

Some of this doesn't make sense. How was Bogut 3rd team but yet wasn't even an allstar this season? Why is Gasol 3rd team if he led his team in PER and Win Shares this year?

How is Roy 3rd team when he was injured a lot of the season?

gotta agree tmac always made first or second team on orlando, i know toronto was bad but guess what that team is horribly constructed. bosh did the best he could and put up monster numbers. i like this

1st

kobe
wade
lebron
durant
howard

2nd

dwill
nash
melo
dirk
bosh

3rd

rondo
johnson
amare
gasol
duncan

roy and bogut were hurt too much i think...love them both as players but if there were to be one more spot i'd also give it to carlos boozer over either of them. he and dwill are IT on that jazz team, and i think he gets underrated because everyone thinks he's a d-bag, including myself. but he stayed healthy and dominated this year.

all in all not horrible but not perfect, which is what one has come to expect from awards like these.

How is Roy 3rd team when he was injured a lot of the season?

Question 1: All-star team is voted by fans (for starters) and coaches (for bench), while All-NBA teams are voted by media. They do not have to agree.

Question 2: Lebron, Durant, Carmelo and Dirk are the forwards who made the 1st and 2nd teams ahead of Gasol. Which of those 4 would YOU replace to make room for Gasol on the 1st or 2nd team? And why?

Question 3: Roy played in 65 games this season. Carmelo played in 69 games (only 4 more than Roy) and made the 2nd team. Gasol played in 65 games (same as Roy), yet you feel he deserves to be either on the 1st or 2nd team. So why do you feel Roy should NOT be on the 3rd team if you're basing your reason on injury?

It would take a classic starting five of the following to beat them in a best of seven.

I don't mind the guys that made it but where is the power forward and where is the point gaurd? The NBA needs to go back to the old way of C,PF,SF,SG,PG with all NBA and the Allstar game! There are guys that deserve to be there that don't get in because of this out of position nonsense! Back in the day it would look like Ewing,Malone,Pippen,Jordan,Stockton a true lineup!

How would you classify them anymore? Everyone plays everything. Lemar Odom brings the ball up almost half the time he is in, so would you really say he is a legit PF? Wade brings it up more often then not, so there could be your PG.

You'd classify it by the position they're playing on the court:eyebrow: Odom bringing up the ball doesn't make him not a Power Forward. Same with Wade. All you have to do is name the players by their listed position.
