"Honestly we'd love to have got that one to kind of get them on their heels," Tim Duncan said after the Spurs practiced on Tuesday, "but we still have an opportunity to steal homecourt here tomorrow, and we're going to do just that.

I hope Duncan is right. I've been saying all season long that it will be any two of the Lakers, Nuggets and Spurs in the Western Conference Finals, so I need the Lakers and Spurs to go through :p

this might be the year the Suns finally beat the Spurs.....I mean, I really didn't know the Suns were this good

I must admit that I am absolutely stunned. I didn't think Phoenix stood a chance in this series.

folks might have to come to grips that steve nash might still be the best point guard in the game.........

i thought they stood a chance, but I had the Spurs in 6.....Gentry has these guys actually playing defense..unlike that other guy in New York....and he actually believes in playing his bench.....

Spurs down 0-2, Suns have a real stranglehold on this series.

Anyone think the Suns stand a chance against the Lakers?

I don't think so, but let's not start writing San Antonio's obituary just yet.

The Suns must be eliminated. If they get any further, people will start to think that defense doesn't matter/isn't important.

we won this game because of timely stops and offensive boards.

I'm serious, I do not want the Suns to win. They are not a defensive team, and the worst thing that could happen to basketball is if the Suns win a title, or even make it to the finals. Then people wont care about defense.

Defence is why suns are up 2 - 0, so don't give me none of that.

Poppovich is getting outcoached, and the Suns outhustling us is why the Spurs are losing this series so far. It sickens me to see the Spurs playing small ball when it hadnt ever worked for us..what makes Pop think it will work now.

Suns did their job in holding homecourt, good job by them. Hoping Spurs can even it up, which I am confident about.

Eh, neither team is playing that great of D to be honest. The Suns out hustling us for rebounds and Gentry outcoaching Pop is why they are up 2-0

Its just weird to hear that little Alvin Gentry is outcoaching one of the greats. But i dont think thats case. More like Pop doing his best with what he has.

Nah, Gentry is outcoaching Pop plain and simple. Gentry is going with what works, while Pop on the other hand keeps going with lineups that were proven earlier in the year that didn't work. For instance..small ball. Playing Mason and Bogans and Bonner too many minutes is another example.

so what you're saying is if the suns win a title, players won't care about playing defense and teams will change their philosophy by abandoning their defense and try to outscore their opposition.

if that's true, what if the suns lose in the finals with their offense. does that mean teams abandon their offensive philosophy next season? just ask the bobcats how that turned out.

you need both to win. sometimes you need a stop, sometimes you need a bucket.

i don't think pop is being outcoached. however, he does have a dilemna because the suns are out rebounding the spurs and playing good team defense.

i like how gentry is respectful and humbled by the whole playoff experience. whereas dantoni was a total jackazz by making stupid comments like "we're still better than the spurs" even though the suns were down 3-1.

I'm talking about the fans. Whenever i'm debate/talking about players like Nash, Dirk Stoudemire, Durant, etc. I always make sure to bring up their lack of defense. And people always respond with "who the **** plays defense?" Which basically means defense isn't important to them. But I'm always able to use the whole "defense wins championships" cliche as a crutch. If a team like the Suns won the championship, I wouldn't have a leg to stand, and people would really ignore defense.

Which in effect is because Pop is getting outcoached. He keeps playing Matt Bonner is who is one of the worst rebounders I have ever seen. He plays small ball, which as soon as Duncan gets switched onto a pick and roll play, we have no rebounding.

I just want him to go back to what was working. Why sign McDyess to the contract we did if we arent even going to use him. He brings exactly what we need..which is rebounding.

It angers me seeing Bonner getting more minutes then Blair. If Bonner cant make a shot, hes worthless because he doesnt do anything.
