***So what is the best draft? Worst? etc... let the discussion begin

Worst: 2000 with Redd, K-mart, Hedo, & Crawford

Best: 2003 with LBJ, Melo, & Wade

03 edges out 05. my reasoning is that 03 brought out some of the games superstars (wade, lebron, bosh, and melo) but 05 brought out a lot of solid players and stars in the league as well (CP3, Deron, Bogut, Granger, David Lee, and Monta).

Right off the top of my head I'd have to say 2003. Stacked.

2003 best so far...lebron, wade, melo, bosh, david west...

would also say 2009 is one of the best: tyreke, curry, jennings, collison, blair, gibson, ty lawson

worst has to be 2000 imo

2000's Draft Class would not beat Stephon's new Chinese team.

I know Bargnani has rebounding issues, but you're ******** if you don't think he's a top player from that draft along with those others.

we shoudl consider not onlyt he stars but how many Long careers have come from each draft.

I would say that 2003 has the shinniest names but 2001 has many allstars and its the more Deep since half the draft is still in the league a decade laters.

The worst is 2000 theres no competition for that.

2000 was the worst, 2003 the best. last years draft might end up one of the better drafts, still too soon to tell.

You are an idiot if you don't think Bargnani is a top player from his draft. He avged like 17 pts this year. Do you watch basketball? Because Nene should be a top player as well. And I see you also excluded D. Gallinari....

But of course you included Blake Griffin as a top player even tho he hasn't even played a second in the NBA....

^ Yea... this thread is garbage. Bargnani is easily top 5 in that draft and has proven to be a legit scorer.

Mainstream fans don't really know about him because he is not even the best player on a non-playoff team. Toronto doesn't get as talked about as other teams it seems.

The value at the end of '01 is pretty ridiculous. As for the best I'd say it's '03, then '05.

I would say that 2003 has the shinniest names but 2001 has Pau Gasol and Pau Gasol beats lebron, melo and wade any day of the week.

the 2003 draft is stacked but there are a lot of scrubs and no bodies in the first round. Michael Sweetney, Cabarkapa, Zoran Planinic, Reece Gains. Just a few.

2001 was a pretty solid draft (and we all know the real reason why you like it) but cmon 2003 produced 4 of the top 7 players in the NBA today

Not really a Gasol thing, i mean i coudl choose Navarros or Rudys draft too if that was the reason.

IM talking bout deepness of the draft and Bust contention.

For example as a matter of fact i dont respect that much the 1984 draft, yes it had Dream , Mj barkley and Stockton but it was overall a BAD draft lot of busts lots of players that were out of the league in 2 or 3 years and a lot of mediocrity 1983 and 1985 didnt have many Marquee names but were DEEPER in terms of number of usefull players, allstars and longevity in the league.

I just happen to be preparing a retro file for sim leagus and ive been working on draft classes files, i have investigated to make them acurate and i ahve done from 1972 until 2004wich is the one im currently doing.
There are classes that people dont talk that much that are incredibly depp

You left Beasley out of the top players of his draft. Look at his numbers, they are better than alot of the players mentioned.

MacFitz92
05-03-2010, 05:05 PM
If you are going to argue against 2003, you are wrong. They have 4 of the top 10 players right now in the NBA. Not to mention the best player in the NBA. The 2003 draft class had 4 players better than any player in the 2001 class as well.
