I really have no idea who I'll be rooting for this afternoon. I think the Bucks would be the much easier team to beat, but I think the Hawks would keep us on our toes a bit more. I think rest is overrated, so I actually think I want the better team to win, AKA, Atlanta.

Stupid Bucks...I'm pretty damn nervous about this game and I had told everyone to shut the **** up about walking away with game 6. The Bucks got over-hyped and scored 69() points. That is ****ing sad. I don't have a bright outlook to this game, I just hope they come out shooting, and shooting good, because I know that defense and hustle will be there for sure.

GodsSon

It's a wrap...Bucks have nothing to be ashamed of though, without Bogut nobody gave them a fighting chance going into the series; let alone pushing it to a 7th game

even if the bucks lose this game, this has been an awesome season for bucks fans everywhere. we were projected to be at the bottom of the eastern conference by so-called "experts" and we ended up winning 46 games and getting the 6th seed in the playoffs AND pushing it to 7 games without our best player (bogut). i'm very happy about the bucks this season and can't wait to shock everyone next season!

Really? And you're a Braves fan from Atlanta?

Hawks key to victory: More shots for Smith, less for Johnson.

ManRam

They were quick to T him up, but his reaction was a bit excessive. If they handed out Ts every time a player complained, NBA teams would have to expand their rosters to about 325 people, because players would get ejected every 5 seconds probably.

Umm...Utah sucks on the road, LA is a better team and a great home team. They played better all game. The calls at the end balanced out. The better team won.

Go take your conspiracy talk elsewhere. Maybe Kobe and LeBron will get to the Finals, and if they do, it's probably because they are the best two teams. They have been (best 3) all year. If they get to the Finals, there won't, and shouldn't be any conspiracy talk.

I just dont see the Jazz giving the Lakers problems like the Nuggets could. Thats why I hoped the Mavs and Nuggets won because the road to the Finals would have been alot tougher for them.

Looking down the road it looks like a cake walk for them. I got the Lakers in 5 and the Lakers in 6 in the next series

Spurs actually surprised me a little...if george hill can keep it up that will be a long series against the lakers.............but yeah I think the nuggets would be a tougher matchup for the lakers, although they'd still lose cause their lack of defense

Idk if they are really struggling OKC was a very tough team and may have advanced if they didn't have to play the lakers in the first round.

While I agree the officiating wasn't great, it was equally bad for both sides in the minutes that it truly counted.

Probably gonna go 6 games. I can see the Jazz winning game 2 and then the Lakers splitting at Utah with LA winning games 5 and 6. Kobe can't be stopped when he senses blood and goes for the kill. And most of the time, even when he misses, Bynum or Gasol or Odom will get the putback. Just too much size for the Lakers against undersized big men like Boozer and Millsap. Utah really needed Bynum to be out for this series or at the very least slowed down by the injury, but he looks like he is dealing with the pain just fine. Sucks for the Jazz. Deron Williams and Boozer are going to have to bring their A game every single night if the want to even have a chance this series. Boozer only had 18 points today, he's probably going to have to make that 25 or his team will have an early exit.

Losing teams fans taking no accountability for their teams play or the great shooting by the Lakers, and blaming the loss solely on the refs? That's weird. Some of you are such *******.

This is the problem with Boozer. He never changes his game, no matter who is guarding him. He thinks he can do the same things against a defender that his his size compared to someone who is the size of Bynum or Gasol.

We all know Boozer is undersized and it really shows when he plays against the Lakers. Blame it on the refs all you want but the only way Boozer scores against the Lakers is when he is hitting outside shots.

--Also, I wouldn't consider myself an arrogant Lakers fan or anything but todays game should have never been closer than 5 points. The only reason the jazz got back in this game is because of Phil jackson pulling some **** with the bench players early on in the 4th quarter.

The Jazz do not have the size to match up with the Lakers down low nor do they have the perimeter skill the Lakers possess. The Lakers are far and away better in every position except one...but that one positon(point guard) becomes neutralized because usually, Artest or Bryant pick up Williams rather than Fisher checking him.

And I think the whole b-ball world knows that with the failures against the Lakers the last 2 postseasons and in the regular season, the Jazz have no business being in the 2nd round facing the defending champs. Nene was out. How was Denver fully healthy? It definitely had to do with George Karl.

See the thing with Utah is that as much as their offense looks good, their defense is actually pretty mediocre. They can't play defense w/o fouling majority of the time, and that's against not just the Lakers, but all teams. That's why Utah is put in the category of a good playoff team, but not an elite West team. They have way too many defensive lapses. Hell, Kobe had like 3 wide open drives to the lane for a layup without any resistance. I can't remember the last time Kobe Bryant had 3 uncontested layups in a game (especially a playoff game). And LA shot 53%.

Nothing against the Jazz bro, but face it, Utah will be disappointed just like the last 2 yrs in the postseason. They have zero defensive leaders on that team. Maybe the rookie Wes Matthews, but that's it. Deron is a big body, but he doesn't have a true defensive idendity. He's more known for his 20+ pt 10+ asst games. Though I must admit he is the best floor general in the game today. But what he does defensively is certainly not on the level of what he does offensively. And I think that speaks volumes with the majority of the players on your ball club.

We shall see. Obviously your the favorites, we have absolutely nothing to lose with nobody expecting us to progress. Underdogs, just the way we like it. Cant wait to see what AK is like when he's back though, I really hope he can get upto pace with this series quickly, but history suggests the contrary with players returning from injury.

And yes, we were awful defensively tonight, the worst I've seen since the regular season, but we will take heart from only losing by 5 in LA to the champions short handed, should hopefully be a stellar game 2

I've seen your posts man, you're an awesome Jazz poster. If I came out kinda pompous, my bad, I'm just pointing out the reasons why your team hasn't had much success against LA.

oh no, your dead right, we suck against LA. Many teams lose to LA because they are the best team, we have that AND the fact that they're a matchup nightmare for us. As you saw today though we have a lot of heart and determination, and we wont go away.

We never play 48 minutes in LA, but I think we did a good job tonight. I dont think your lead ever got above 14, and we set ourselves up with a chance to win it and just stopped executing. We didnt have a FG in the last 4 minutes. Same thing happened in game 1 v the nuggets and we came out in game 2 and won against a much more talented team than us. This is what keeps me optimistic in this series.

and the trick is try to take my posts as light hearted as possible. When I came in and said the original post you quoted I was half jokingly trying to get some banter going to make this thing fun, instead all I got was a load of people being dead serious with me focussing on the ref part of my quote. Where are all the fun Laker boys at?

How can Jazz fans be excited about todays game?

The only time they were in the game is when the line-up of Farmar, Brown, Walton Odom and Bynum were on the floor. So, the Jazz bench beat the Lakers bench over a 5 minute span... The only problem is that in the playoffs, this rarely happens and may not happen again. Once the starters came back in, the lead was gone and the Lakers were back on top.

Why was the bench in? The Lakers were controlling the game and were up by at least 7 after each quarter with that lead reaching double digits multiple times.

Yes the Jazz played well against a good Nuggets team but they do not face nearly as many match-up problems as they face with the Lakers. Also, not taking much away from the Jazz but the Nuggets were clearly not the same team without George Karl. If you dispute this, you do not know what you are talking about. A head coach the stature of Karl is very important to a team.

The Jazz are a solid team, no doubt about it but they do not bring anything to the court that the Lakers cannot match up with.

Exactly? What the hell does that mean...

That is not going to happen again nor should it have happened today.(having those two line-ups on the floor) If that was what Jazz fans were happy about, there are some problems.

When the starters(normal rotation) were on the court, it was a completely different story.

What do these 90's records have to do with the 2010 playoffs? They don't mean anything, just like the record you threw out in the Bulls cavs series, saying that the Cavs never beat the bulls in a playoff series, basing it on the 90's MJ teams. Guss what? The Lakers are better than the Jazz, but were lucky to pull that game out yesterday. They Lakers found enough negative to be motivated for game 2. The Lakers know that the Jazz are not healthy and are not up to the Lakers skill level, so they need to take the bad from this win to get motivated.

You have a fade away jump shooting PF and a Center who doesn't want the ball, also the Jazz big men are so small compared to the Laker bigs, the Lakers bigs don't even jump half the time and still contest the shot.

You know what funny is Denver fans can complain about the calls the Jazz got and I bet you wouldn't agree would you?

Take your HOMER glasses off man, hell even Laker fans could argue about the calls the Thunder got but no instead we gave them credit or atleast I did stop blaming the Refs I didn't see you complain when you were getting all the calls against Denver.

Go ahead tell about how all the calls against Denver were right and how Utah deserved those fouls and then tell me about the Refs cheating for LA and how the Lakers do not deserve to win(even though any team who wins is the deserving team since they did what was needed to win) etc...

Pretty much when you lose the Refs cheated and didn't call the fouls and when you win everything is OK because they NEVER CHEAT for your team right?

Well denver got some calls that didnt go there. But overall was a good series. Went to game 6 and was evenly called both ways.

Take my homer glasses off. Coming from a laker fan. You obviously are blinded by your homerism. Thinking the 4th quarter and everything your team did was fine? That they just played perfect defense a gainst booz and milly and fez and kosta. Thats why they shot 0 free throws combined?

fez and Kosta suck and are no threat to score, even the Jazz know this. Boozer is a jump shooter.

They don't suck. They are ok. Carlos boozer isnt only a jumpshooter. He usually takes it inside. Thats why he shot 384 free throws this year. Also what about millsap usually goes inside the paint too.Wow an ignorant laker fan just said some jazz players suck. Ok then ron artest sucks and so does luke walton.

Whoever wins the series is beter. LA has been better the last 2 years and this year is going to end the same way for the Jazz.

Don't worry about the refs dukejazz. When we get to Utah, it'll be like 48-28 in free attempts or something, in favor of Utah. Once those racial slurs come out on the refs and the opposing players, refs will **** in their pants and give Utah all the calls.
