In the Mav's defense, it's not like they were playing a #7 seed in the East. The Spurs are capable of beating any team in the NBA. All the Western Conf playoff teams fully healthy were all capable of making it to the WCF. I don't see really any of them being an upset. Esp since people were putting San Antonio as a top 3-4 team in the NBA at the start of the season.

With that being said, it's still a nasty stat to be the only 1st and 2nd seed team to lose in the first round of the playoffs.

Tim Duncan and the rest of the Spurs are a great team, but LAL can probably beat them.

Hopefully Duncan has some gas in the tank still.

the mavs seem to be the history makers, but for the other side of it....

losing to the 8th seed while being a 1 seed in the first round.
now losing to the 7th seed while being a 2nd seed in the first round.

I don't know where you guys find humor in teams losing. Not to mention crack jokes about how they suck, and what not. Does it make yourself feel better about yourself. Do you even think your a Laker player? Because your just a citizen and everything about your team winning is mental. You don't get anything. Why do you care that 5 people whom you personally don't know win a basketball game? Because they wear a jersey that you like?

Just trying to bring you to reality. Maybe some of you can quiet the **** down and learn just when to say: "Damn, didn't think the Mavs would lose. One hell of a series, Dallas sure has some bad experience in the playoffs. It is a shame to see such a good team this decade never take it the distance." Instead of: "ROFL, The Mavs suck! Lakers #1!"

To the [few] Lakers fans who are not obnoxious, best of luck.

You do realize that Mavrix basically asked for it, don't you? With all his moronic homeristic raves, he deserves everything he's getting right now. You're another disillusioned one who gets angry when anyone disagrees with you. Hell, are you the one who thought Terry deserved to be playing tonight because he was "playing well?"

I did get heated. I am at fault for that. I just don't like seeing people attack Mavs in such harsh ways. I mean really, I know we expected a lot from this team, and another first round exit is painful.

It's like breaking your arm and then having a bunch of Laker Fans kick at it till you can't take it anymore.

losing to the warriors (#8) when the mavs were the #1 seed was pretty bad. but i don't know if you could really say it's a horrible loss - yes of course it's a pretty bad loss because it's the first round, but i don't know if it can be called horrible. the difference between 1-8 is 7 games. if it was something l ike in the east, the difference between the 2 and 7 seeds is 15 games, while in the west the difference between 2 and 7 is 5 games. in the east, the difference between 1 and 3 is 8 games. and the difference between 2 and 3 is 6 games.

so that's not that bad of a loss.

but they still set nba history. lol

04-30-2010, 04:44 AM
the spurs have the same team from the start of the season.. and since the start, they're struggling with injuries or without.. or maybe they're just underachieving..

the mavs had a pretty good team at the start, and also considered contenders... and even solidified it with a trade, making them even more dangerous..

so, maybe we could consider it a bad loss after all..

I'm actually starting to believe the Spurs could actually pull this off (winning the West). But I bet the Suns are pretty hellbent on revenge.

In the moments of truth, there was such a calm over these Spurs. They lost a 22-point lead in the game, lost their touch at the free-throw line and Popovich finally blurted in the huddle: Next guy to miss a free throw owes me a car. On the way back to the court, Duncan, the worst of them all with six misses in seven tries, stared back blankly at his coach and asked, “What color do you want?”

LOL. Pop is so awesome.

On the one hand, the moves that Cuban did to make the Mavs more competitive this season were praiseworthy.

However, hubris is a slow toxin causing an even slower death. The minute Cuban started pounding his chest and believing the press that the Mavs could beat anyone and win a championship THIS year, I knew it was going to end badly for him.

I think the Mavs can go deep in the playoffs with some tweaking. Hopefully Cuban won't make any rash decisions during the offseason.
