Putting that into perspective in lebron's 3rd year he averaged 31.6ppg but was beaten by iverson when averaged 33ppg and kobe whom averaged 35 a game

if those players had seasons like that this year then durant would not have won it.

i don't think anyone really cares about these stats but it's misleading when he gets mentioned as the youngest scoring champion ever.

i'm sure there has been players that have put up 30 a game close to that age or younger and never won it because someone else averaged more.

LOL at this thread.

Sure, there has been a younger player who has scored more points in a season, but Kevin Durant is the youngest scoring champ ever. You can't twist those words.

He's the youngest to lead the league in scoring in his year.

So can't complain.

Speaking of misleading, I think this was the first year that they got rid of handchecking.

No, its not misleading because this is exactly what he did. Lead the league in scoring.

Its not misleading, its a 100% true fact.

But this shows how utterly useless that fact really is. Its hard to think of a more insignificant accomplishment.

Insignificant? How?

Name the players who were in the running for the scoring title and then name the top players in the league.

Just because you win doesn't make you the best in the game but only the best in the game contend for it, he's in pretty good company contending for the scoring title.

YES it may not mean much but it shows that he is an "Elite" player in this league.
