View Full Version : If Dallas loses Tonight, Will it be Dirks Last Game as a Mav?

Simple question. Cuban has brought in a ton of talent over the years to surround Dirk Nowitzki, his #1 guy and they have never been able to win a title.

This year was supposed to be their best team so far and they are one loss away from going home in the first round.

Yes it might be a bit premature but if the Mavs lose tonight, will this be the last time we see Dirk in a Mavericks jersey?

This question has been answered a trillion times and I'm pretty damn sure you knew the answer before you posted this thread.

He has one year left on his deal. How this can not even be contemplated is beyond me.

if he gets killed by the spurs again,i can def him leaving(either cuban becomes disillusioned about dirk,or dirk goes ring chasing)

I cab only wish he signs with the Heat.........but, No. Cuban will never let him go.

Errr, no.. Why would he want to leave Cuban?

J4KOP99

So the Mavs plan on re-signing him to a new contract after next season?

naw after giving dirk different teammates year after year and always coming up short i can see cuban getting fed up by all the losing in the playoffs and completely change it(including franchise players..maybe bosh)

I believe Dirk said he'll be a Mav forever a couple months ago or something.

To answer your question, no.

No... He already said he wants to stay... He has a player option next year and he is willing to give up his 20+ million next year to take a less to help the Mavs get more players...

Yup, but I can't see Dirk leaving, it would be pretty wierd lol

There's no real, proven way to predict whether a player would stay or not with your prediction turning out to be accurate. You might come to this conclusion where you say, oh he's not going anywhere, he doesnt want to disappoint his fans nor does he want to leave the city in which he was born in. But when the summer comes, youre in for a surprise, it turns out he's not staying after all.

hell naw everyone knows cuban will pay this man more money under the table if thats what it took

Hecks no. Mark Cuban has a huge man-crush on Dirk. The only way he leaves is if it's his choice.

no, but what does him being one of the best players in the NBa have to do with him leaving?

shyfly24

why does dirk ALWAYS adjust his jersey
hes been doing this for years now....everytime he shifts his body he always has to adjust his jersey back in place
wouldn't it be easier to get a size smaller

heathonater
04-29-2010, 08:55 PM
no, because nba trades involving star players usually end up one sided. dallas wont get equal value for dirk on the trade market, so trading him is out of the question.

Alright, Dallas lost in the playoffs again.

If Mark Cuban doesn't even contemplate moving Dirk and re-shaping his roster then he is not as good of a GM as I once thought.

Dirk may love Dallas and Cuban may love Dirk but some of you has to think that this marriage is about to be over.

Cuban has a man crush on Dirk so he won't be moving. Everyone else has a 50-50 chance of staying or not

iggypop123

unless he wants to go to NY or take the MLE for the lakers he will likely stay but that championship window was just shut down fast

AntwanN21

mans gone through alot, had a shot at the championship with nash, then against miami, then when they lost to gs and now this year. I dont think he will leave, but he needs to weigh down his options.

Its time for him to leave its better for him and beter for the team.

He can opt out this summer and add to the Deep FA pool.

Kidd, Marion, Butler, Haywood, are not getting any younger and they are on long contracts that NO TEAM will want to take on a sign and trade .

Dirk has showed he cant win as number 1 so its time fr him to join wade or Lebron in Miami, cleveland or wherever.

If he stil wants to be numebr one he could try Join Clippers or Bulls.

I also think he could REALLY flourish in NY with Dantoni system they could sign and trade Gallo and David Lee so Dalas can start rebuiling and then Ny Signs Lebron to be the 1st option.

He needs to leave if he wants to win,

Option C - He'll stay, but still has ways to go before being considered among the best (Top 3-5) in the league.

Play defense, grab boards, work more in the low post and passing, then he'd make the list... I agree that he probably won't ever get there though.

Mark Cuban will make sure Dirk don't go nowhere! But they are not getting it done, so you have to do something!

This is what I'm talking about. Obviously this is right after a loss that knocked his team out of the playoffs so he is definitely upset, but at the same time...he is definitely weighing his options, no matter what he has said before.

Dirk will replace Amar'e to re-unite with Nash.

Seriously though, I doubt he's going anywhere though unless the Mavs gets a big trade opportunity.

are you all forgetting dirk can opt ouf of his contract this summer?

If he wants to move he WILL move and Dallas would need to accept whatever a decent offer for him is in a Sign and trade if thy dont want to lose him for nothing.

Its all on Dirks roof, and if i was him i woudl definetly Walk out ofr greener pastures.

O btw Mavs are my third fav team so no pun intended just being realistic

Again, why do people say he is not a good 1st option? Nobody have answered this question... He has played his heart out this series... Most of the games were close ones but without him, it wold have been blow outs... Again, it is not his fault... His teammates are to blame...
