View Full Version : Would the Lakers go after Dwayne wade?

If the Lakers were to lose in the 1st or 2nd round of the play-offs, would they go after a superstar? All signs point to Lebron staying in Cleveland and Wade/Bosh/Nowitski/Johnson/Amare will be left on the market. Do you see the Lakers making a play at Dwayne wade? it will be a scary scenario for Heat fans because L.A is every bit as attractive as Miami, if not more, except for the babes and no income taxes in Florida.

Do lakers have the money to sign a guy to the max ? No doubt they'll have to give up a guy like Bynum or Odom.

I'd think the Heat would take back Andrew Bynum in a sign and trade for Wade. I just don't see Lakers creating the cap space to sign Wade. Bryant has a no trade clause.

Yes, the best player on the Lakers is their SG, so they should trade everything else for another.......SG

I think we're dialed in with our current roster. We may makes some moves as far as bench players go, but I don't believe that we can do much in terms of signing a major superstar...unless said superstar is willing to get paid far less.

I'm not one to mess with another man's paycheck, but if the Lakers lose this year, and if I were Kobe, I'd call in Pau, Bynum, Sasha, and any player making excessive $$$ on their contract and discuss each of us restructuring our deals in order to bring in one more quality FA. We're talking a miracle, of course, but there is too much talent on the market to stand pat, if we don't win the title this year.

And if a miracle did happen and we signed Wade, does he move to the point or does Kobe?

More likely to go after anthony, they need a SF not another SG. But Anthony isn't going to leave denver

Hate to say it, but I never felt like Melo's heart was in Denver. Especially during the early part of his career. He caught quite a bit of flack from the local press and fans. 2011-2012 is light years away, but I don't think he'll re-sign with the Nuggets.

Well, my friend came up with a scenario that have Gasol/fisher going to suns, Amare s&t/Barbosa to Miami and Wade S&T/Chalmers to lakers.

why would they need Fisher when they have Dragic? And also, Gasol leaving the Lakers? He is one of the most valued player in that team. I just don't see him getting traded, maybe Bynum/Fisher to the Suns, but not Gasol.

what a stupid thread, the only way this works is if miami does a sign and trade with the lakers, and LA would have to give up a close to equal amount in money which is a lot since wade is looking to get a well deserved max deal....It will never happen

Well it's not Arizona but it's pretty much a conservative state creating laws like Iran.

Lakers trade their whole bench roster for D-Wade, sounds reasonable :D
Then sign a bunch of D-Leaguers.

that would be really stupid to have 2 good shootin guard who really play well....no cap space for the lakers to pursue any big name FA out there
